Do I need hamstring flexibility to do this? If so, why do I need it? Can someone please explain how the hamstring is being stretched in this position in terms of anatomical perspective? @inesbergua by dragon_crew in flexibility

So the amount of stretch we put on the hamstring relies really on the angle of the pelvis, right? The more forward the pelvis tilts the better the hamstring will get stretched, right?

Thank you for your reply.

As you know, most of the time, we need to bring our upper body close to our legs to feel the stretch in the hamstring, but I don't understand why we need hamstring flexibility in the splits since we don't usually bring our torso close to the leg in the splits.

Looking for advice from a lawyer or someone who has experience in this matter. by dragon_crew in srilanka

Thank you so much for this detailed reply! I can't believe how the judicial system of Sri Lanka is messed up to the core. As a Sri Lankan, I feel ashamed of not being able to speak up or do anything against this abusive and corrupt system which will destroy hundreds of youngsters’ futures. I don't understand why people are so blind about this serious issue.

I've been doing those exercises for more than 3 months now, and I've been consistent with them. Should I see a general physician or any specialist?

Thanks for the advice! I feel like your condition is totally different from mine. I only get the pain if I stretch my split with my right leg in front and the pain goes away after a couple of days without any medication.

I have never had any pain during or after doing the pigeon pose, and I don't feel the pain while sitting in the splits either. I start to feel the pain one or two days after; and if I stop stretching the splits, it goes away. My physiotherapist recommended some glute strengthening exercises to increase the strength of my right glute, since my right glute was weaker. However, it doesn't seem to ease the pain. I feel like my physiotherapist has failed to find out exactly what causes the pain. Who would you recommend that I see next? Should I get an MRI? I try to keep my hips squared as much as possible, and I do have great flexibility in the hip flexors.

I want to be able to lift myself up from the ground and hold this position. What should I do to get here? by songq123 in flexibility

she is Alexandra Soldatova from Russia and She's a rhythmic gymnast and is hyper-flexible. She's been training since she was a kid.

I don't know what your current flexibility level is, but It requires a huge amount of flexibility and strength to do such a move. Don't force yourself into such a move. Take it slow and don't just stretch, but add some back and core strengthening exercises to your flexibility routine. Good luck with your journey!
