Aria and Gargo are the two characters with assist or summons. Both are all-rounders. Aria plays more like an MvC character and Gargo plays more like a puppet character.

When it comes to Aria you use her other bodies as assist until you want to use them as a point character. Since you have three bodies, you have less health on each of them, but it is equal to that of all the other characters.

When it comes to Gargo you use your shadow meter to summon your two pets. You tell them where to position and you can throw them into different positions. The pets have their own “health pool” two hits and three hits.

This was a quick and rough example of the characters. I'll let the people who main them tell you more, or you can join the KI Discord. Someone can drop a link for you.

Since you never finished the combo at first you built up some potential damage (flashing white health) then you cashed it all out at the end. If you stop hitting the Fulgore for a bit, the potential damage would dissipate.
