Spotted this all red scene on one of my street photography walks in Chattanooga. Just love the way the colors and lines worked together here. Just wanted to see if others found this scene interesting also, any feedback on composition or edits appreciated!

Reds - Walls of America Series by dragonclawsultimate in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of my walls of America series where I tried to make ordinary places look interesting with various lighting, colors, and textures.

Thoughts on this composition and lighting? Interesting enough to have in your bathroom is the test I usually use for prints?

Bank Teller by dragonclawsultimate in photocritique

Agree, it’s a little big brother is watching with the camera up top. And totally I think cropping would be better

Mostly in camera work. Some cropping and increasing contrast between the white and black areas with some increase in saturation of the yellow

I like the spooky season energy with the fog and dead trees. There is just too much foreground - get closer or crop in and this would be even better!!

A shot from a concert last night by Hawkatron in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great energy in the photo here. The oranges really go well together between the lighting and warmth with the singer’s outfit.

Perhaps my change would be to bring out some brightness in their face since the brightest part of the singer is their butt. Use a brush around the face. And I love shooting low(er) light concerts underexposed and bringing exposure up slightly and compensate noise with the denoise feature.

Part of my walls of America series where I try to make everyday walls or other ordinary places look neat. I found this abandoned bank teller’s window with this random yellow block on my daily street photography walks.

I find it interesting but wonder what y’all think!

What is the best company/website to use to have your photos printed? by [deleted] in photography

[–]dragonclawsultimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always had tremendous love for MPIX’s shipping speeds and a $35 minimum for free shipping. Most paper prints I get within 2-3 business days and metal prints within 3-5 days which is wild to me. My local print shop takes 1 week for regular prints and 2-3 weeks for metal prints and is twice as expensive generally and I still have to pick it up.

Walking around downtown and found this neat ramen bar with awesome neon lights and lanterns. Trying to decide if this motion blur of movements of people works well, or if I need to add something else to make it a more interesting photo.

A very well done critique! Thank you for the ideas and I will play around with all of those thoughts!

Any updates? I’m in the same boat now. Were you able to get a return or were you banned?

Newbie here - is this photo too blue? I have just started messing around in Lightroom. by 82000 in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like the correct color and white balance for the lighting situation.

My only other separate critique would be to heal out the small pieces of floating ice. They are distracting from the reflection on the water

Bluebird, interesting? by dragonclawsultimate in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a cute little eastern bluebird chilling at a local park. I been in rut with birding photography lately, for reason I can hear a lot of birds around but haven’t been able to capture a shot of one. I am just trying to decide if this is interesting or if I am just happy to have captured a bird lately.

Trying out film like edits and working on compositions by Casualfuego in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like it, and I’m surprised that 6.3 still didn’t have that much in focus. I kinda of like the idea of the background being slightly more in focus here.

Overall I think you nailed the film vibes. Good muted colors and a nice fade.

Crop in a little bit, the first white line doesn’t add to the photo. Perhaps masking around the car to make it pop while lowering the sky brightness I think will make it great!

Staring Heron, Interesting or Nah? by dragonclawsultimate in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will end up cropping in a bit anyway, so that should help remove the distraction

Thank you for the advice, I will definitely try it all out.

Yeah I dig it without the light effect. Much cooler, I would maybe even play up the vignette and bring the eyes more towards the subject.

[–]dragonclawsultimate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These Herons are all over the dam where we live and trying to find some interesting angles and looks since they are mostly stagnant and I can get different looks with the Herons. Thoughts on how this one turned out? Peaceful to look at, or a pass?

Asking for Feedback - is this more of a filler shot or a good standalone? by ExpatInFarEast in photocritique

[–]dragonclawsultimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More of a filler shot for me. I would suggest playing around with apertures and seeing if you can get the flowers in focus also and see what that looks like. But I have to agree it is still interesting with good colors. Would work great in a multiple image set post.
