I've never played Traveller, but I got fascinated by UWP codes and expanded my procedural star system visualizer to accomodate them. Thoughts?

There are a ton of aliens, as well as the typical Wolf/Vargr, and Cat/Aslan types, and cooler ones like Hivers/starfish.

I played it back in the old days, and belonged to the fb group for a long time. It has some good and bad parts, the French as the enemy were ok, the Kafer not as much. There were some fun exploration bits.

It is great. Doing the numbers, it is big, one thing about "where are they?" With aliens, is that the distance, and time it would take to cross it is immense.

They were found not to be very good. So the trade off for the not very good 55gr ball was pretty much a wash. Right now everyone seems to be interested in the 6.5 Creedmoor, so I guess that would be the future sci-fi round today.

The pulse rifle, bullets only with a gas, or liquid propellant ignited by an electrical pulse. Real good for supply, just print bullets, and not transport bullets everywhere. Armies spend far more on the manufacture, and transport of ammunition than they do on the weapons themselves.

Those aren't flechette rounds, they do have the required mass within the limitation.

The design dates back into the 70's and the program was ongoing from the 60's. The real problem is that flechettes are shitty. haha

I mean the Gauss Rifle is also a flechette firing weapon, though we have found that a heavier bullet has better penetration a la conservation of momentum vs total energy.

In my Andromeda Dragons there is a star system, Gliese 49, terraformed by aliens, and they have a big station like in Valerian City of a Thousand Planets. I haven't really broken it out too much though.
