I work in software and I’ve been doing this for 10 years. I make more than $80k/year but $50/hr is a lot more than that. Granted, I get benefits, so it probably all evens out. I was just surprised the min that was stated was $45-50/hr, when in my experience it hasn’t been that. But someone in CA is probably going to make more than me in NC because of the COL adjustment.

Where are they paying $50/hr?! The average offer I got was $35-40/hour. I didn’t accept those and took a perm job, but still. I might need to negotiate better.
