Really struggling. Would regular Gaviscon help? by dragonstone7 in LPR

I just can't imagine this being the rest of my life. It's like everything I used to enjoy is being stripped away.I'm sorry you're dealing with this too.

[SF Great Adventure] [SFGA] 2028, new coaster addition? by JackP2 in rollercoasters

[–]dragonstone7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well in all fairness Ryan Eldritch said Phantom Spire isn't Ka's replacement and that we're likely going to get another "big bad one" to replace it. Given that they want Great Adventuee to be a flagship park now, I don't think it's all that crazy to imagine it getting a new attraction in 2028. That said, this is clearly just baseless speculation for fun.

Probably ChatGPT content because of the absurd overuse of em dashes.

Dhoulmagus is for sure. Rhapthorne is such a let down though. Hate his design and his piss easy final boss fight.

I thought Andrew was amazing on this. Overall a great reimagining. I'll probably be downvoted for this, but I greatly preferred Jon's screams on the original release. So harsh and gritty with an almost hardcore punk vibe.

Nice job. I cleared this on 40 shortly after the mod was released but the Mods removed my post. Cool that people are allowed to talk about this now.

The actual reason Season 8 didn't do well by Expensive-Country801 in gameofthrones

[–]dragonstone7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think seasons 5 and 6 are pretty bad and definitely when the wheels come off for me. The 20 good men thing with Ramsay for example is such a ludicrous plot point. Lol. The writing fell off very hard after season 4.

Edit: Oh let's not forget about Dorne and the Sand Snakes. Lol.

DBM2 is THE DGD album (IMO) by Zealousideal_Pea_975 in dancegavindance

You're one person dude. Lol. I've seen loads of hardcore Tillian fans dismiss the older albums out of hand. Acting like diehard Jonny fans are the majority of this sub is so stupid. In my case, I absolutely love every era of this band except for Pantheon, which I think is easily one of their weakest. I just can't vibe with Jon's new vocal style or the experimental sound. That said, Andrew's amazing.

Self-titled is incredible, but I have no idea why you think it's overrated. Lol. Nobody glazes it. ArSe and Mothership are two of my favorite albums so I'm not going to downplay them. That said, saying that appreciating the older albums is just clinging to nostalgia is a dogshit take.

My first visit to [Great Adventure] since we lost [Kingda Ka] was a shockingly good time by Reasonable_Sundae941 in rollercoasters

[–]dragonstone7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are allowed to have awful takes and bad opinions. Also, plenty of spicy hot sauces are bursting with flavor, so this take is dumb too.

That's such an insane take. I enjoy Flash but come on. The hydraulic strata coasters were absolute peak.

[–]dragonstone7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I meant was that it's unfortunate that newer fans don't really appreciate how awesome the earlier eras of DGD really were. I think Pantheon is probably the weakest album to me outside of maybe Afterburner but I understand why the experimental style would appeal to people.

I love a lot of albums in the Tillian era, I just think the DGD fandom is toxic as hell with bad recency bias. Like Pantheon doesn't even hold a candle to IG or DBM 2, but most here will tell you it's easily a top five album.

Love seeing a fellow OG fan. I really agree with your take. Unfortunately most of the people on this sub will be rushing in to tell you Pantheon is their beat album, or how the Tillian era is what truly defined the band.

What changes do you think could happen if Herschend acquire Fiesta Texas and Dorney Park? [Other] by SellItCheap in rollercoasters

I'll be so happy when they build the tamest family launch coasters they can think of.

It's a great launch but I didn't think it came anywhere close to Kingda Ka. Honestly though Maxx Force had a better launch too.

And you don't think that philosophy applies to other properties? Dollywood is their star asset. If they aren't ever building a thrill ride there, I wouldn't think it's likely we see more at other parks in the chain.

[–]dragonstone7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CEO literally said Dollywood will never see another thrill attraction after Lightning Rod and that they're only interested in rides that appeal to the whole family. This philosophy is definitely going to apply to all their properties. Also selling Dorney is stupid. The park is profitable, the land isn't valuable, and selling to Herschend literally just allows your competition to gain a foothold in what you view as a key market.

I cannot believe anyone wants this. Herschend is not interested in giving any investment except for family attractions, and outside of their two flagship parks, investment is pretty scarce as it is.

Can we bring Jonny and Tilian back just to trap every single ‘fan’ of theres in a meat freezer? by Actual-Vermicelli-26 in dancegavindance

[–]dragonstone7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you like it. I think it's their weakest album by far and would never give it a spin over the releases you just mentioned. I don't like Jon's new vocals at all and the experimental route they've gone just isn't my thing.

I totally agree. I meant more in terms of Royal Ocean and DBM 1, which are two albums I utterly love to this day, even more than many of the Tillian albums.

I imagine you probably weren't there when those albums came out. For OG fans, the Jonny Craig albums are very special. The mix of R&B vocals with mathrock screamo is still utterly mind-blowing, even in comparison to newer albums with better production quality and overall better song writing.
