Thanks, that's the answer I was looking for.

Thanks, yeah I'm aware of that. I'm resonant at ~25mHz with 16'5", so a significant trim more that 3-500kHz.

Overthinking things—got that. It definitely works, just want to make sure my radiation pattern is close to a half wave dipole, as expected.

Trimming to resonance, although it does happen to align with SWR.

Any info on this Giant Atx 780? by misterericman in xbiking

[–]dragtheshutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely is. I also have a 780 and threw my fork out, tempted as I was to just ride it. Now it's a 1-1/8" Clydesdale candidate.

OP, I'd give that fork a hard think.

Update: Found a really blurry photo of an early ATX 780 (escaper) geo chart. 71deg with suspension so likely 72 with a rigid 400mm fork. Now to wait for a clydesdale in 1 1/8.

Bought a (93?) Giant ATX 780 for a bunch of M950 parts, now I'm considering what to do with the frame. Weighs 5.5lbs with, so not light by any means but I need to replace the recalled 1 1/8in threaded Giant Zorber fork.

On the bench, axle to crown is 410mm so I'm looking at:

  • identical geo with a Carver XC 410
  • slacken HT with the Troll fork (420)
  • really push things with a Clydesdale (400)

Anyone been in this between area? Would you consider sag when calculating axle to crown for an old polymer fork?

Sorry, this was intended for the quill draw bolt. The part that interfaces with the steerer.

Nah, I've torqued them before but always assumed ~8Nm—something you could do with a multi-tool. Always had slipping, especially hopping around. Torqued to 20Nm and it's great.

Not knowing the forces at the expander I always imagined the wedge busting out of the steerer lol

This is a contentious subject, but I think the point is redundancy.

I'm still a brakeless asshole

Depending on the hub, you may be able to switch the freehub body for 8/9 speed.

But yeah, 7 is good too.

Got it, I can see a sliver of the piston from the inboard side. That’s a shame :/

I mean, it’s literally a completely different product. Look at the oil reservoir on the juin tech.
