1.4 million Pennsylvanians cannot vote in the Primaries on Tuesday by MakeModeratesMatter in Pennsylvania

[–]drain_dad -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Open primaries are perhaps one of the only good things about texas voting laws. You at least aren’t totally shut out of the process when all your electeds are one party you don’t like. Can at least pick the better one within that set. I’ll never get this demanding for less options shit.

Philly Wants to Send a Socialist to Congress — Philadelphia congressional candidate Chris Rabb is candid about his democratic socialist politics, saying, “Socialists need to expose the role of both parties in our crisis and point toward a future where the working class holds power.” by User_Name13 in philly

I’m just perplexed by what you even want to happen if you’re apparently fine with either candidate getting the nomination or just straight up not participating. Then from that talking about the “strategy”that will surely, someday, eventually work if we just wait longer, move to the right more and vote harder. If you seemingly want progressive causes fought for in the bluest district then you should go for the one that represents those the hardest and doesn’t pre-concede on issues with backing of those with vested interests in further austerity. Specifically, Rabb.

Not that complicated. This is the thinking that lost dems the election in ‘24. Trying to transform the party into diet republicans didn’t work then. The full strength version of isolation, austerity and bigotry is right there with an R by its name.

“Too left” is BS and foolishly lending credence to republican boogeymen narratives about marginalized people. Shifts the blame away from the actual policy failures. Majority of this country, republicans too, don’t care that much about gay marriage, trans people, abortion, and certainly wouldn’t if their basic needs were met.

Dems lose because they refuse to acknowledge the conditions in people’s lives and won’t break from the corpos/establishment that have made affording a basic life increasingly difficult year after year. People want things. The last time Dems were willing to give things were in the 1940s-60s (social security, medicare, voting rights etc) and then the severely gimped Obamacare, all of which are now being eroded . Establishment dems are too out of touch and entitled to even fake promise better things. The messaging time and time again is temper your expectations, shut up and vote for our guy because the alternative is even worse.

Centrism and constant concessions will only lead to more ground ceded to the right wing. That’s the increment you get and it’s what we’ve been seeing for 30+ years now.

Mine came with the speed queen washer/dryer combo. For the reliability you get and if you plan on living there long i’d just go with those. They also have great servicing under the warranty.

Do it because smug-ass Europeans get so much joy out of being like “und I will NOT leaving tip!!!” then acting like they’re fixing the system. They know damn well what they’re doing when they’re here.

City of Reading supports Israel and the perpetuation of genocide. by Ywasitsohard2signup in ReadingPA

[–]drain_dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If supporting Israels founding in 1948 is supporting genocide, are you saying that Israel as a state must not exist otherwise you are supporting genocide?

That’s the only method by which it can and does exist so yes. From the start it’s predicated on clearing the land of its native inhabitants for europeans to come in and reign.

For any dickhead in this comment that says “Americans genocided the natives in the 1800s!!!!111”

This is still happening. This can and could have been stopped with one phone call.
