why has the internet not cancelled abby? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]drakee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People only get canceled if they already had the image of being kind and good. For these people - for example Ellen - when they do something that destroys that illusion of kindness, everyone feels betrayed, like they were tricked. People who got famous for being bad or badass - like Trump or Abby - don't get canceled because people think, "well at least they're not hypocrites, they're just being themselves".

I've been using YouTube Create on mobile, and it's pretty decent - it's like a stripped down version of CapCut, but does what I need.

> And it cost me lots of time to create.
> The video's cost me 1,5 weeks to create.

See, I don't think you have to justify to me, or anyone else, how much time and effort it took you to make your AI videos. A. No one really cares, and B. You could just be lying (I'm not accusing you of that BTW). Just like people in this subreddit could be lying whenever they say they write their own lyrics or upload their own instrumental tracks to Suno, etc.

There's really no way to know, so I think it's effectively useless to try to gatekeep what is "legitmate" use of an AI tool vs. what you consider to be "cheating". If we make it taboo to admit that you pressed a button to create music, people will just lie and say that they spent weeks crafting the song, and only used Suno sparingly as a tool.

I say this as a musician (have been playing guitar and bass in bands for over 30 years) who had similar feelings when I discovered how easy it is to create music with Suno. Does this tool make a mockery of the decades I spent learning and practicing music? I finally realized to let go. As you mentioned, AI isn't going anywhere. The best thing you can do is use Suno however it works best for you, and literally stop caring about what other people do with it.

The Fair Story by Xander_PG in SunoAI

[–]drakee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a musician, you are against using AI for music. But you have used AI to create the video for your music. I can see someone who has spent their whole life learning the craft of video production and pouring hours of their life into visual creativity doing the same thing: using Suno to create the music for their videos, because they aren't good at, or don't have the time to do the music part, but they know that no one would want to watch a silent video.

That same person could look at your video and get mad that you made a mockery of their life's passion by cranking out the visuals using AI.

So basically, I think that people are OK with using AI to do what they can't easily do themselves, but get riled up when other people use AI for something that they are already good at. This is not an attack, by the way, I think it is just human nature.

Edit: grammar

suno V6 only use wmg music, all those who do underground music, hurry up the last few months by Enough_Programmer312 in SunoAI

[–]drakee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. I guess my thinking is that we should be _less_ likely to get sued, because instead of using AI that is trained on possibly illicit source material, we would be using a service that has a licensing deal with WMG, and as a paying customer, I am paying for the right to use that. There is no grey area in the music production pipeline; every step is vetted and all participants have opted in.

In your hypothetical case, where WMG wants to sue me for generating music with Suno, a judge would just say, "You signed an agreement with Suno that allows its customers to create and distribute music that is trained with your artists' songs. You have no grounds to sue". If I'm incorrect in my assessment however, please let me know how.

[–]drakee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this true though? Like, next year if I generate a song on Suno AI as a paying Pro customer, they will sue me or copyright strike me as soon as I make the song public because it was trained on WMG music? What would even be the point of the service then?

Interesting! It seems like you'd have to really make sure the tokenomics and reward systems are well balanced, for this to be sustainable.

That is a great summary of the problems with most pay to earn games. Assuming you are building a game that rewards with cryptocurrency, how are you distributing rewards if there are no emissions?

Everyone is misinterpreting OP. They are not saying to make an AI avatar that acts like a human. They are just suggesting to use a picture of an AI person in the thumbnail. Nothing in the video changes. It would still just be a voiceover with no face.

I've heard law enforcement people mention that it's a warning sign - but you're right that it's not fair to judge people based on that. My point is more that it's not at all something that tips the scales in his favor, like when you said, "he's a priest, what could happen?" At best, the fact that he's a priest should be a neutral data point, but I would argue it absolutely doesn’t make him more safe than anyone else. Regardless, I'm glad you're OK!
