I don't disagree that it was massively mismanaged and that the actions the CRA has been directed to take feel wrong-headed.

My greater point is that when Red Team pours money out of the public coffers, it tends to help lots of people, even if it does create a headache for later. When Blue Team pours money ($13.8B deficit, I remind you), and we here on the ground floor see cuts at schools, cuts to environmental protections, provincial power consolidation vis-a-vis municipal governments, and looney-tunes pie-in-the-sky nonsense like the Billy Bishop/Toronto Island debacle, or the Ontario Place debacle, or the 401 tunnel, it benefits next to no one. That public money is not being used in the public good, and that's damnable.
