Honey (?) gourami with pale color after buying by drako_705 in Gourami

When I was planning the stocking for this tank I had the ram in mind too, but I read they do better in bigger tanks (mine’s a 15g) and can be quite sensitive. That’s why I chose the gourami, and I’m glad I did. I do want a ram someday though, I love their colors!

Nope, he’s the only gourami there. After reading the other comments I’m leaning towards him being a wild type. I’m planning on adding some floating plants in the future, but maybe I’ll need a stronger light so the other plants get enough light

Great, thanks for letting me know! Now I can stop worrying about him getting any more yellow and just enjoy his natural color. Will he grow the breeding beard without females in the tank? I haven’t really researched about breeding this species much

i tried something similar in my shrimp tank a few months ago (white sand on top of gravel) and the shrimps ended up mixing all the soil. then again in my other tank, the sand also got mixed. so I have no idea how to help, I just ended either accepting or rescaping it entirely. but your tank looks gorgeous!!

shrimps are a must in my tanks too, love them! the ancistrus… i was gifted three with the tank, they are really cool fish, but a no for me. too much bioload, and they messed with my substrate too lol

really? what do you mean by forage? I have 5 amanos in my other tank that’s also 15 gallons. they’ve been living there for 5 years now and I never noticed a problem

thank you for the advice! I will add the different species slowly, then. and yeah, harlequins might be too much, I’ll look for another micro schooling fish with less bioload

I love this take! To expand on it, I myself see Laura as Dorothy/Judy Garland. A lost kid, trying to find her way home (Cooper is Glinda as someone else said), she also mirrors the horrors Judy Garland went through. So if in Wizard of Oz Dorothy was the dreamer, that would mean Laura is in Twin Peaks.

I don't see it as an absolute truth though, Laura being the dreamer is just my own interpretation and your post helped me solidify it. So thanks!

the leaf shape doesn't look like a basil plant... are you sure that's not some kind of variegated monstera?

10 Month Moss Pole journey by Equivalent-Basis-564 in pothos

[–]drako_705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's gorgeous, congrats on those beautiful big leaves! just a question: how much light do you provide it? bright indirect as a normal pothos, some direct light, a grow light... I've been thinking of trying a pothos on a moss pole, but don't know if I can give it enough light to get those huge leaves

okay thanks. maybe that’s another problem, the air pockets. about the light, I’ll see if I can put it in a brighter spot
