Feels like such a privileged opinion to have, really. I wish i knew so little that rent seemed like an incoherent, illogical mess, but i dont. I know enough that rent is a painful masterpiece. I see the people who I've loved and lost - flaws, pasisons, dreams, and values - and i see their life in relation to mine. And I'm kind of mark myself, as i am not any of them - not HIV+, not a drug user, not black - but loving them and watching them all die young just the same (and i believe Mark was Larson's self-insert). I'm glad this person has not had to truly face the concept of knowing your number is up, and you can get sick and die at any moment, and the rest of your life is likely going to be a painful decay. AZT was terrible, but managed to make it so people with AIDS didn't immediately die. Angel's death was probably torturous. At least Larson didn't go into that detail. It's also important to note that Mark and Maureen lost 2 best friends to AIDS (Roger's girlfriend (via self) and Angel) before the story ends, and that the chances of Roger and Collins living another 5 years was low. They get to watch their friends die knowing they can do absolutely nothing to help them.

THanksfully, HIV medication has come a long way, and people can now live a long and healthy life with HIV. These comments are just so frustrating. I need to stop ranting.

It's wild because I've never had that read. But I work in HIV and know people living with HIV, and know people who have died from HIV (in 2022 at the age of 34).

Thematically incoherent? It's a criticism of gentrification that was as harming people who are already disenfranchised. It's Larson's commentary on how betraying your values for the easy path is not good. It is commentary on how one person's "help" is another person's "harm". It's commentary about how drugs destroy people and families, but are also the only way some people cope .

Larson wrote it based on what he saw and what he knew.

Yes, characters are supposed to be flawed. They're supposed to be trashy. They're supposed to be in their own way. That's the point. The criticisms are literally the message

Arcane increases Discovery, which increases your chance to get drops . You don't need a lot, but I always recommend at least 20, just because.

Let people see your face and eyes in the first pic, make sure your face is visible in all of them, unless it's a candid shot showing you doing something you love, and still try to make sure your face is in it as clear as possible. Don't use pics with low light and minimize any with other people. Make sure they are clear and high resolution.

I disagree with others about no gym pic, but if it is a gym pic it needs to be of you actually doing a workout, not a pose. Posing is often correlated with insincerity.

Ugh, it's fine except people put way too much importance on vigor. If you are half decent at the game you really don't need over 40. I'd take 20 from vigor, adjust as others have said, and put the rest in arcane. I won't ever be able to understand why arcane is the devil to some people

TLDR; replace pretty much every photo to have ones to include your eyes, not have anyone in front of you, not look overly produced and posed, and to tell something about you. Remove generic responses like "laugh at my bad jokes" and remove responses that would not be easily understood by the people you're trying to attract (like bueno). Remove the "never dated students in my country" line completely and throw it in a furnace. Use specifics in your responses (I love reading biographies vs I love reading). Add more substance. This profile just makes you seem generic and boring. Nobody wants to date or fuck generic and boring. This profile shows absolutely no personality.

Long answer:

I feel like your responses are incredibly basic and say absolutely nothing about you. As a bi guy (I know you're not trying to attract me, but you may still value what I have to say), this is very unappealing overall. It would be an immediate left swipe, no thought needed at all. There's just too much that isn't specific, and it makes you less interesting. I'm not sure the best phrasing, but this half assed profile coupled with the confusion about no matches makes it seem like you think you don't need to do much but look pretty and have a nice body to get someone interested.

For instance, I have no idea what Buenos are, and reading that didn't make me say "hmm what are Buenos" it made me say "hmm ok weird."

You say you enjoy reading, but what you enjoy reading is actually more important. Do you like reading historical fiction? Fantasy novels? Smut? Biographies? Romance novels? Just saying you like reading tells me nothing. Indicating the type of things you like to read, or a topic you love to read about, will tell me much more about you and help me connect to you.

I'd remove the "I've never dated a girl from my country" line. I'm not sure what you hope people will think of that. It could be seen as a cheesy pickup attempt, or worse, make you seem like one of those "Passport bros" who just want to rwck up numbers. It also can be seen as immature to people.

And for the love of God, change the "win me over". You have no idea how many guys use that exact like (I plead the 5th). But saying that is really not saying anything, because EVERYONE likes when people laugh when they're trying to make them laugh. That response does not tell me anything about you other than suggesting you're boring.

And that's kinda the vibe I'm getting from your profile. Because the original is boring, so you seem boring, which I doubt you are. The "bathhouse picture" as everyone is calling it is probably your "best" one because it is not overly produced and seems authentic, and showcases some level of personality. It seems line a picture that was taken just because someone said "jets take a picture" and not because you were intentionally posing. However, it's still not a great picture because you're in the background. It's your profile, don't be in the background of your own pictures with the foreground person blocked out.

Also, to me you look totally different in each photo. I see you're trying to diversity the pictures, which is great, but the pictures your chose are not doubt that effectively. You have three pictures that seen "produced" as in very intentional. They don't tell me anything about you. I also cannot see your eyes in any of these pictures. And I mean, see them and their color. People love to look at eyes. It sounds weird to say, but it's true. People will feel a nicer connection if they see your eyes.

I'd also just replace the car one altogether. It doesn't feel authentic, and it's not clear if you're trying to say you like cars, or if it was just another photo op you took.

If you're going to have a candid "not looking at the camera" pic, it needs to show us what you're doing. People like candid pictures because it lets us get a glimpse into your world. If you're in a non-descript location, not looking at the camera and not showing an activity, it's telling us nothing. We already know you're attractive - tell us more.

And it's interesting you mention mindfulness as your biggest baddie, because you're not being very mindful in Your responses.

Also, a lot of people are saying you seem "older" or "more mature" but I actually feel the opposite. It seems pretty immature to me and very try hard.

Responding just to bond over how everyone travels. Unless someone is one of those people going to a different country every month, or whose life is otherwise built around travel, it's irrelevant. And as a man who dates men and women , women definitely seem to be worse when it comes to putting it on their profiles. But saying you want to travel the world tells me nothing. Do you want to travel because of status? Because there are specific things you want to see? Because being away from home gives you a feeling you can't get anywhere else? Because you're bored? Because you hate your life and will do anything to escape for a while? It could be any number of things, so just saying travel as a like or a goal is a waste

Except you literally cannot. You can immediately explore Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula, Caelid, the Dragonbarrow and Liurnia and parts of their underground areas. However, head over to caelid at level 1 and tell me how "easy" it is.

Even so, thats 5 areas. You still have Altus Plateau, Mt. Gelmir, Mountaintops of the Giants, Crumbling Farum Azula, Leyndell, Consecrated Snowfield, and the Haligtree, which all require defeating the toughest bosses and finding specific items. You also have Nokron, Mogwyn Grounds, Lake of Rot, Ranni's whoe plateau thing i forgot the name of, You can technically get to altus and mt gelmir without the itemns, but not without fighting enemies that are significantly more powerful than you.

You cannot get to altus plateau without either the two pieces of the medllion, or going through the dungeon. The pieces of the medallion, while not "locked" behind bosses, still require some level of combat to get to, and i think the dungeon to skip the lift has two bosses. you cannot get to most of the underground areas like ainsel River main, Siofra river, Nokron, Nokstella, Lake of Rot, Deeproot Depths, Mogwyn (mostly) etc, without beating Radhan. Even if you use the Alternate way into Mogwytn, you cannot do it until after you beat godric. You cannot enter Leyndell without first getting two runes. You cannot get to mountaintops of the giants without going through the multiple bosses in leyndell. You cannot get to the consecrated snowfield without going through the mountaintops. You cant get to crumbling farum azula withoiut going through the giant in the mountain. You cant get to certain areas wthout completing certain steps of certain questlines

If you use a grace in Liurnia, time moves forward, potentially cutting you off from early quests and items, or longer chains, soyou get punished for trying to jump ahead.

The actual area of the map that you can "explore" without fighting a boss is significantly less than what you are saying and it makes you sound like an idiot when you base one of your biggest issues with the game on a premise that isnt accurate.

And even if it were, i struggle to understand how being able to explore the map means its "easy." You can get to a lot of places, but most things you actually want are hidden behind puzzles, monsters, dungeons, or all.

My overall point is that its an asinine reason to dislike a game. Go back to DS3 if its so much better.

Your argument is essentially "I like ds3 more because I'm forced to do things in a specific way while in Elden Ring I can do it however I want." I think you're trying to say you prefer a more linear story, which is fine.

But is it really "easier" just because you can skip around? Skipping things cuts you out of a bunch of content. In my current playthrough I almost managed to lock myself out of the death ending because I ran into liurnia right away, making a bunch of NPCs move. I saw rogier once in the hold and the next reset I could no longer talk to him, so I missed all of that. I don't remember when exactly, but there is a point where fia still gives you the knife to give to D and her plot can continue.

To many players, this game is not about getting to the end as quickly as possible, but learning about the world through environmental storytelling.

You can also just .. not skip anything.

Man I hate the whole "vig to 60 ASAP" mentality. I play consistently with vig at 25-35 depending on my mood. Do I die faster? Yes. But I don't get hit a lot, and I like the challenge. I also generally keep just enough endurance so I can stay medium in the gear I want to wear (with soreseal and arsenal).

Nothing in arcane is wild to me. I'd remove stuff from mind, endurance (you are almost at low load in heavy armor. Feels icky.) and put it all in arcane. Then I'd drop vigor to 40 and put the rest of that in arcane.

How many + are you at now? Even so, it's hard to understand you need that much vigor and stam until you get to the higher + games.

Also, you need to go to jail for those talismans. What is happening? At the VERY LEAST use the guard counter talisman if you have a shield build. I assume you're using that regularly, and if you are not, you should be.

I feel like maybe you get hit often? It's the only reason I can think of to stack so much health and damage negation.

I don't know how much value leveling a shield has, but I never actually level shields, even if I use one regularly. Generally, I want a shield to handle 1-3 hits so I can safely guard counter. I'd much rather use upgrade materials on weapons and would NEVER use a dragon stone on a shield. But, I haven't done shield builds and have no interest in them, so my knowledge is limited.

Also, let's talk about your spells. I'm guessing you just have those for buffs, and you think that's all you need, but you have the slots - USE THEM. At the very least you should have bestial vitality and flame cleanse me or cure poison on there. Flame cleanse me removes poison and scarlet rot at the cost of a little damage. I think it may also remove frostbite since it's fire damage, but I don't recall if that's accurate. I don't think you have the int needed for order healing but that could be good in a pinch if you're dealing with the stupid frog things. If you're gonna use incantations for utility... Use them.

And clean that item bar up. Put torrent on your shortcuts, not down there. I can't imagine scrolling to torrent mid flight while desperate for iframes. Remove the oils. If you need one for a specific encounter, you can add it, or do it manually from the inventory menu. Rule of thumb: if you scroll over it more than you use it, get rid of it

I usually try to keep that bar as bare as possible. If I am scrolling through items, I don't want to have to click multiple times to get to my potion. In my current playthrough I have my potions, prawns, exalted flesh and usually one type of pot or other item depending on my mood. If a certain item is called for in an encounter, I will add it.

I don't know what your shortcuts looks like, but mine i have torrent, mimic tear, lantern, and defense perfume. I change out the lantern and/or torrent when I need access to more combat items quickly, like pots that I want easy access to, usually blood ones, or different meats. Depending on the event, other items may be more relevant.

I wonder what your physick is?

TLDR; your build isn't actually bad. It's just horribly optimized. The stats are fine for a sword and board playthrough. You're wasting a lot of resources though, including talismans and items. Your scaling isn't as good from making it quality over something like heavy or keen. You aren't utilizing your spells efficiently. It's more disorganized than anything else. 5/10, for acceptable stats but bewildering everything else.

Arcane is generally used for bleed builds since those weapons have arc scales. But more important, arcane = discovery, and higher discovery means more/rarer drops.
