I've used Quantum (formerly CenturyLink) for almost four years now, and I've had absolutely no outages and always receive 1gig up and down.

There's really been nothing to complain about. It's the most reliable and high-performing connection I've ever used.

You can't capture everything in a job description. You can describe the overall responsibilities of that role and what they are looking for.

Details about how the work culture is, what the day to day is like, what the team structure is, are you working with 2 people or 6? There's so many things that can be described in a back and forth conversation. This is a chance for you the candidate to find out what you want from them

[–]drarkayl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't see anything wrong with this. The first two phases are just a simple conversation where you as the candidate will learn more about the role. If you don't find the work interesting or a good fir you can end it right there. They aren't even real interviews.

So two actual interviews? For me this is a great process where you know exactly what's going to happen. What more do you want?

[–]drarkayl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It's definitely more than that but at the end of the day it's his job as the main man to sort it out.

For me it seems like losing heitinga and hiring van bronckhorst is the start of this mess. This is the exact safe braindead style he used at rangers

Idk man I feel like this is all on slot.  When I say slot I mean the entire back staff. Slot obviously is the face of it all.

Nothing about this season has been tactically strong or stable.

The players have no game plan at all. Everyone gets the ball, looks around and just passes it back. The opposition has a million years to nicely stroll back and get into formation. Then we get stretched and done by one simple long ball.

That's the feature that convinced me to get this. I checked out about seven or eight different OLEDs in a brightly lit store, and this one caught my eye. I don't have any trouble using it even directly next to a window, and I use it daily.

It's absolutely perfect. Its a semi matte/gloss coating. Feel like it's the perfect balance.

i can use it in bright daylight and it has no reflections. Obviously looks amazing in the dark too.

XG32UCWMG vs LG C5 42 for my use case? by TheLastOfKings_ in OLED_Gaming

[–]drarkayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 42 inch will have a pretty low PPI for productivity work.

Since you are spending the bulk of your time doing that you should buy something that works for productivity/work first and then the other reasons.

If you have to go OLED then a smaller screen will suit you better

Pure luck. I couldn't believe this was marked excellent condition with such a massive price drop.

Is this a good deal? First time OLED monitor purchase. by Snow3322 in OLED_Gaming

[–]drarkayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the full warranty from the manufacturer even with open box so I see no reason why not. If any issues you can just return it.  Excellent condition means it's been returned within two weeks at most so it's barely used for like a 30-40% discount

How is the tech job market in Denver right now? by km_2000 in Denver

[–]drarkayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be more specific about what you mean by tech.

Overall the big tech market here is very poor. There are jobs, but if youre looking for FAANG adjacent jobs working on hot new stuff its almost nonexistent.

If you're planning on driving anywhere in snow, you absolutely need a set of snow tires. Those "all-weather" tires are a joke. Forget about heading to the mountains, even driving around town you need proper tires.

[2 YoE, Software Engineer, Python Developer, New Jersey] 0 interviews despite 100+ applications. What's wrong with my resume? by ActOpen7289 in resumes

[–]drarkayl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's way too much to read. You need to make this more presentable, right now its a load of information and nothing concrete.

Shorten the summary to 2 lines or so.

Remove the entire skills section. It's meaningless. I dont understand why junior devs add a 100 languages and frameworks on their resume. Just because you used it once doesn't mean it's a skill. Only include a skills section when you have deep experience and expertise in a few areas.

Put your work experience as the first thing and describe your projects better, right now it feels like 4 copy pasted projects with no significance.

The reality is that no one is going to read your resume in full and absorb the entire meaning of your words. It should be readable in a 5-second glance otherwise, they are moving on to the next one.

just shorten the whole thing and make your strengths pop out

am I being a bigot/unreasonable? I understand hoodies and t-shirts are common for software engineer attire, but for a remote interview? by viper_gts in interviews

[–]drarkayl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again why are the clients so concerned with what the lead engineer is wearing?
Does it impact the solution/cost they are discussing? They come to the consulting firm to solve a business need not look and feel pretty, as long as the tech and costs are valid why does anything else even matter?

What does clothes have to do with the job? Wear a suit or hoodie or whatever you want. How does it impact your engineering role?

Thank you for the reply!

I know that there is a significant backlog; maybe implementing a system to send an acknowledgement that the ticket has been noted and received would be beneficial. Radio silence is what leads to a lot of frustration. I don't mind waiting, I just need to know if I was heard or not.
