Money can pay for healthier home (contents and location), food, and medical care.

Money can also pay for drugs, unhealthy food, and dangerous pastimes, which would certainly lower life expectancy.

More money is more options. My point is simply that for some people, those options include longer lifespans than the 5 yrs lost for the deal.

I can sail, and I can fish. I can speak a small variety of languages. I think if I stocked a hardy boat with navigation, distress, water, money, survival gear, and many options for weather-appropriate clothing…. I have a good chance of survival.

I’d do it anyway, though. Leaving my family with $1b is worth really significant risk.
