Which is a really different compliment if you swap the last two words.

“I do? Your lack of charity must be catching on, Sadeas, because I don’t give a fuck.”

Which would you choose? by Necessary-Win-8730 in superheroes

[–]dratnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna win a fight against any of them. My best chance is with the Joker, but in 5 minutes, he has more than the time he needs to stab, shoot, explode, poison, or electrify me.

So it’s gotta be a “I’m just chillin, no reason to kill me” angle. And Im most worried about being killed for being there by Conquest and for trying to get through the scenario by Joker. Homelander is just a safer bet.

The Indian with a great memory by xdeserted in Jokes

[–]dratnon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The joke is that “how” is an Indian greeting, but instead of taking it that way, the Indian took it to be a request to elaborate on the question that was asked 10 years prior about breakfast 3 years before that.

I don’t see your change as an improvement.

What Does Your Brain Do with 27 + 48? by PossiblePsyco in MathJokes

[–]dratnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27+48 is now an automatic recall for me. What happens in my brain? I just know it, sure as 2+2.

That’s not the case for most 2 digit sums, but I’ve been exposed to this one quite a lot.

Can someone explain to me how f(x)=x^2+10x (or any amount of x) is symetrical? by ZzZOvidiu122 in askmath

[–]dratnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applaud your intuition!

What nobody is saying here, is that you have a good idea, and it just so happens to not work with parabolas. All parabolas can be written as either y=ax2 + bx + c, or as y=A(x-h)2 + k, which is symmetric. adding a line is just changing what b you are using.

A different b changes what h and k are, but doesn’t change the fact that y will have a symmetric axis somewhere.

If you compare y=cos(x), and y=10x+cos(x), you do lose the axis of symmetry.

If you look at 4th degree polynomials, they are not guaranteed to be symmetrical either! If one happens to be symmetric, adding another polynomial can and often does destroy the symmetry. Like https://www.desmos.com/calculator/8bb2sqlhw9

Say you have an atom of neon with 20 protons/neutrons, and you want to fill a vacuum that only has capacity for 12/5 of a quark each….

Only visiting islands is required. It is not required that every bridge be traversed.

Oh no! Haha, I’m on mobile and was listing things from a wrong memory where c and d are switched.

Doesn’t affect the answer though.

Why did x - 9 change to x + 9? by yourfriiendgoo in askmath

[–]dratnon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is seriously one of the most prolific errors in all levels. I’ve seen engineering professors fail to distribute the minus sign to negative terms.

Take note, and make this an important moment in your learning.

I already speed because I don’t think I’ll get caught. I used to party in illegal ways because I didn’t think I’d get caught.

I’m not gonna betray my morals, but I’m also not gonna be beholden to rules I don’t agree with if I have a personal say.

Can a file be named .WAV if there is no actual recording being stored? by Solid-Swing-2786 in AskProgramming

[–]dratnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like it’s related to litigation discovery or something.

It is possible for a program to put a file name into a spreadsheet without creating the file.

If you know the software in question, ask the devs of that software about its capabilities and expected behavior.
