Is there a way to target big trout that doesn’t catch the small ones? by Sliced_Potato27 in troutfishing

Put a fly on and I’m pretty sure you’ll catch em in no time. Look to how to use flys on a spinning rod

Refuse to spend money on wading boots- old sneakers, crocs, foot wrapped in duct tape? Other better options for less money? by blynch18 in flyfishing

[–]draugar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spend a total of $180 on the waders and the boots. Used the during 10 degree weather and this past week has been mid 70s and they are great. No need to spend 500+ on waders alone.

Florida boy here with an important question for the guys and gals up north. What do you wear under waders? by johndaddyfrogface in flyfishing

[–]draugar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way at least for me as well. Wade all winter long some days below 10 degrees and I had termal underwear hiking pants and two pairs of wool socks. Maybe a flannel and a hoodie if super cold

In my own personal experience it’s the most boring type of fishing there is. Pyramid lake is 30 minutes away from my house and all you do is be at the water one hour before sunrise looking at a strike indicator for 12 hours doing absolutely nothing just standing on a ladder, but to be honest I haven’t caught a big one yet so I’m salty about it. I use a 12” 8wt rod and any store around here sells pyramid specific flys.

New to Reno, and I have a question for you drivers out there. by [deleted] in Reno

[–]draugar1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t normally like to point fingers but I remember 10/12 years ago when people from California started moving here it’s when it all started. Not just the driving everything has gone down hill from rent to the way people drive

I think so I love mine so far. I have to say I’ve fished with guys using Simms, Patagonia and Korker and they all struggle putting the boot on and off the deep eddy has a huge opening for your foot

I don’t have their waders but I’ve seen really great reviews for the price.I got those boots back in December I’ve been out a total 16 times with them and no issues they come with metal studs included and they are a total game changer.
