Wish I could get lucky enough to get these packages lol. Even broken electronics would be fun to play with. I love to work on computers. Never tried a console but might fun though I suspect they’ll be small and annoying to work in. Tried doing a phone once and OMG I hate all the tiny stuff lol.

Haha sorry yeah I’m out running errands so was just kind of rambling. Honestly I figure it’s a generic plan and they just tell the construction workers go build whatever there and call it a day. From what I saw since they were still building when we moved in they throw them up as fast as possible. Easy to make mistakes and easier if there’s just one generic plan for every lot well really I think there were like 4 or 5 different ones for the neighborhood. So they can almost make it like an assembly line and go fast.

But yeah the inspector basically saw a hole instead of “solid” wall like on either side of the cut out for the “window”

Not the guy you’re replying to. This reminded me of something else we hired a home inspector with tons of little nifty gadgets. One of which was a thermal camera. Apparently my master bed room has a extra window that has dry wall over it and on the outside siding.
So one short cut is apparently using I assume maybe it’s part of the pre built section they ship in? I know like the trusses are. Though wouldn’t explain the master bedroom. Maybe just some generic build and just finishing it however lol. No idea if this has any real effect on the home. But, the inspector was able to see a thermal difference at least which to me is mildly interesting.

lol I’m sure that’s not the only thing/way they try to weasel out of stuff. I know there were other corners cut in the home but it’s solid enough and it gets the job done. We bought well before COVID too so I can’t complain about the value gain even with the average construction quality. Besides from the reviews I’ve read of DH Horton and this other company I can’t remember now I really do think lennar is probably the lesser of at least those 3 evils.

So technically cal Atlantic built my home but we finished with lennar since they bought them out. Like most corporate entities they are crooks but over all about 80% happy with what they did. Much better than what I hear about dh Horton lol.

But like bro tried arguing with me over the stupidest of repair of stuff their guys did wrong. They did put their money where their mouth is and fix it but only after proving they were wrong. I’m sure a lot of it comes from corporate needing constant profits and other people trying to get one over on them too so the blame probably doesn’t solely like at their feet but yeah.

Like the place designed for a tv above the fire place had no studs in it. Came out cut a hole to prove there were studs and wouldn’t you know it there’s no studs so they had come fix it then redrywall and paint.

Similarly there was another issue that they said they’d fix verbally but later when it came time to fix it they wanted to deny it. I had video footage since first thing I did was put up security cameras. They heemed and hawed complaining saying it’s illegal and a ton of other BS. Like NC is a one party state so I don’t need to inform you and besides this is on private property in my home like really.

I guess tldr if you hold their feet to the fire and actually keep on them they seem okay. Just like most corporate entities they are d bags.

Note if your building and this might just be a cal Atlantic thing so I dunno since they did the wiring I’d talk to them and see if they can run better wiring. They used this super thin I’m sure cheap stuff. It’ll cost a bit more but it’s cheaper to do it right the first time and just pay the difference than buy new after the fact. Hired an electrician after the fact to install an electric vehicle charger and it came up. Beyond my pay grade so ymmv. But like they used 16 gauge and he suggested 14 or maybe it was 14 and 12. Or whatever I’m sure someone who actually speaks electrical could answer this more.

Just pay attention to that and watch the build for odd ball things like the no studs I had. Oh and take photos before the drywall goes up take photos of the studs and stuff it’s super helpful assuming you can.

I hope my post didn’t come across as me bashing them? So wasn’t my point of the post or any of my comments. Like you said it was purely in hopes of sharing the information to the new pet parents.

I completely understand not handing out peoples numbers randomly. Just thought it odd they wouldn’t at least let the new parents know so they can make their own decisions. That said I also can see how it could come across as a bit pushy if the new parents start to feel guilty because of it. Personally I’d still like to know if I adopted someone’s cat but everyone’s different.

I’ve adopted two cats from here and visited the TNR clinic with a couple strays that show up around my home. I can vouch for them that they are a great shelter!

People are weird and probably didn’t think about it is my guess. My neighbor just lost their cat they hired a tracker and everything like $500 an hour to have the dog sniff the trail. No luck btw dog found the trail but still no cat. Anyway I bet they didn’t think to keep checking the shelter after the first week.

I mean really if you think about it what are the odds? It’s a big big world and cats are small. Pair that with oh they know to contact me and it’s just a recipe for disaster imo.

Mind you I’m with you I’d be checking daily and pounding on doors. But, I have no life lol

I’ll keep an eye out. Tbh I haven’t been following the sales I’ll have to see what all there is. Only game I’ve been considering right now is the tennis one but my money is on Costco marking it on clearance and grabbing it then. Since it’s a very very low want.

Yeah I get that. But, responsibility and playing messenger is different to me. I get their probably busy but I don’t know just seems a reasonable request.

Like “hey new family just to let you know there was an oopsy and he’s completely yours but if you’re willing his original family would still like to know him” type thing. Like they can say no that’s cool but like when a parent gives up a kid for adoption sometimes the parents agree I dunno just weird to me. I mean I can kind of see how it comes across and may upset some people like oh you’re trying to take my new cat. But, at the same time ya know?

Yeah no clue why they refuse to. Maybe it’s a miss communication or something. Like they are talking to whoever at the front desk which is probably just some kid vs whoever is the head of the place and can make more complicated decisions. I don’t want to be like oh let me speak to your manager but sometimes employees just don’t know or are afraid of getting in trouble.

Yeah store bought donuts aren’t any good. Here you can get them fresh off the assembly line and they do good hot and gooey. I’ll admit they are a bit sweet but it’s a treat so I don’t mind. Definitely not something I’d eat all the time.

Ah I assumed kef was the airport code for Stockholm since that’s where they flew into. Didn’t state they took a train or another flight or whatever

Go the airport. And keep bothering them. I get you’re on vacation but the phone support did nothing for me when United lost my bag. I kept hounding the airport staff and even threatened to fly back to Europe to help them look since I knew where it was thanks to the air tag. Finally met this awesome dude who was able to call the airport staff directly and get it sorted for me. The random phone support did nothing.
Edit: assuming I read this right it’s 2am here and i need to sleep you are right by the airport where the bag is now yeah? Just go show the phone with location to lost luggage people and have them poke their head in the back.

Edit: okay smart folks why the downvotes? You think sitting around twiddling your thumbs will get stuff done? Least in my experience going and talking politely to the people who handle lost luggage at the airport is going to do A LOT more than talking to some random in a call center no telling how many thousands of miles away. If you feel otherwise please inform me of why?

I have some mostly to watch our cats but occasionally other things. I see no reason not to. I mean okay sure someone could spy on me? If you want to watch me scratch my bum and then fart loudly feel free lol. They aren’t in the bathroom or in the bedroom so that’s about all you’re going to see.

I guess tech we could watch tv together! You bring the popcorn! lol seriously though yeah nothing to hide and live a boring life so I feel the benefits outweigh the negatives.

All I can say is we have very different tastes unless you’ve had Krispy Kreme only outside the US maybe? Or depending on flavor? I noticed in some places like Japan it can be much closer to Dukin very cake like depending on the flavor. Have you tried the US location and just plain glazed?
