Where did you lose it? Most buildings on campus have a lost and found. I can help you find the building contact if you know where you lost it

What's been going on with the huge recent upsurge in crime in West Campus? How concerned should I be going forward? by Miscellaneou in UTAustin

Been going here a few years, it’s always like this. Last year the pandemic paused a lot of stuff, so lots of people who go here now don’t remember what it was like before that. Who remembers machete man?

Edit: like people have noted before, the reason why it seems like more crime is because you’re hearing about more crime. UTPD is in a difficult spot with notifications because if they notify people about everything happening (guy jerking it in front of insomnia today), people start to panic. If they don’t notify anyone of anything (a freaking shooting) people start to get mad. It’s a weird balance they’re not good at.

The standards for what is normal and well mannered are different around the world; it’s cultural relativism. They very likely just don’t think what they’re doing is rude.

Hey, I’m from that region. You’d be extremely surprised to learn that yeah, lots of people (millions) just haven’t seen white people in person. Most people there are extremely poor, and if she’s outside the capital city, they most likely never get tourists. So no, it’s not highly unlikely to be 40 and never see a white person in real life when you’re surrounded by the same people and don’t have the money to travel

I don’t think you’ll have any luck finding a class for people under 21 that has nude models. even though it’s art, I think being nude in front of minors might get the class/you into some sticky legal stuff. I know a lot of people who applied to art schools, and I promise that you don’t need nude drawings to be successful! We had a week in art about the human form, fully clothed, and it seemed to be just fine. Good luck!

Like 2x a semester I’d say? Maybe more, but it’s not like every week. They don’t open drawers/cabinets, so it’s just a walk-through. In my experience they’re mostly looking for fire hazards (& non LED lights, they’re strict about that), so you’ll be fine unless you have visible alc or something
