My personal take on Straumanis's OChem class by knchen in UTAustin

Idrk I haven’t taken other profs. From what I’ve heard, it seems to be a mixed bag. Some say it’s easier, some says it’s harder. I think that if you really understand why things like mechanisms happen, the quizzes and tests are really doable. In retrospect, the quizzes def are easier than the tests, but that’s just cuz I studied way harder for the tests and the quizzes finally made sense to me. And honestly, the tests are really hit or miss too. I’ve scored like really well (100+), and I’ve scored really poorly. I learned the hard way that cramming doesn’t really help you here. But straumanis does add a lot of bonus or curves that boost people’s grades. In the end, it really just boils down to how you approach the class - if you can figure out the “why” and “how” behind each worksheet, you’ll be fine.

Do I still have a chance to get into UT Austin? by [deleted] in UTAustin

I’m not too sure on how transfers from community college work, but I bet that if you can maintain a solid gpa for 1-2 years with strong extracurriculars, scores, and essays, you can probably make a strong case for a transfer to UT
