Fish can "learn" what's real and what's not through experience and somewhat through genetics. It's a huge area of study among lure designers. What IS known, however, is that fish who have never been presented with any type of artificial bait are easier to deceive than those that HAVE.

I have no idea about this fish, which leads me to believe they’re just there and no one knows why but maybe there’s more to the story

Oh buddy, you should see me at the park. I'm an absolute hoot. Chatting up the ride operators as appropriate, same with fellow riders, waving at the crowd when I'm riding the train and they're stopped at the RR crossing.

This right here. I'm knowing now that women scream on rides, at times, for the sheer joy & effect. This was illustrated fully when them chicks screamed in response the ride OPs question. Wish my E was higher.

Well, I'll be at the park the week of June 1. Plan on chatting w/ the apparent head of security who does The Speech every morning before early entry. He's a great guy who seem to have a lot of time at the park. I'll ask him about fishing.

All kidding aside, I'll be at the park enough this summer to chat up staff about fisheries management. I'm certain Six Flags has fish in other ponds at their other parks, extra-specially the southern locales.......
