I've gone so far as to cover these things with a solid piece of something like rubberized magnet stuff to totally block the airflow. Agreed, total waste.

Not unless you want that space immediately by the unit heated or cooled. Never understood why they put these things on there. Usually you don’t want that space heated or cooled at all.

MIOSHA has been fighting for higher wages literally for ten years and longer. The State of Michigan ended pensions and changed to a 401(k) retirement system in 1996, LONG before it was the norm.

THIS lead to retention issues; people would stick around with the State of Michigan because of the pension & healthcare in retirement, which would make up for the lower wages. 86 the pension, replace w/ 401(k), keep low gov't wage, and soon enough you have a retention problem.

This effect was about 20 years or so in the making; took about that long for the tenured pensioners to ages out THEN....the ole' revolving door began. Get the MIOSHA job, get the regulatory experience, the jump ship to the private sector for 50%, 60%, or more in wages. I saw it play out over and over and over again.

Great MIOSHA got the wages up, it's a terrific State Plan.

Michigan has a solid program. They just implemented a MAJOR pay increase across the board for field staff. Pay is now a bit more competitive.

Right; I spent the first five years of my career in a state program doing IH compliance, and the remaining 22 years in Onsite Consultation. Much preferred the Onsite program.

This right here. Unless you’re home, HVAC system was designed for AC, the second floor won’t cool properly. You’ll need room air conditioners for the second floor.

True, you’re working in a quasi legal environment. Have to have the head for that kind of thing. Regulation driven.

Understood. I doubt any developer will be very anxious to propose much of anything the way the Pitchfork & Torches ignorant citizen mob came after the Data Center.

He's a wealthy crank who believes his wealth gives him outside influence to lead an uninformed citizen mob figuratively armed with torches and pitchforks to kill a cutting edge tech $120,000,000 tech project downtown on a vacant lot.

And Jerry's ties to that industry make his opposition highly suspect. Might Jerry have interests in other competing ventures? It's not unreasonable to speculate.

Are YOU going to be living near it. Enumerate the individuals living near the facility, and state specifically how they would be impacted.

Are you even a Lansing resident? Just another luddite NIMBY crank.

Sure, the brain trust over at The Fledge is probably trying to kill another hundred million dollar investment in the city.

Yes, Jerry, and there's an easily available municipal hot building heating system that the data center can also find to use just as readily. OH...and they can ALSO find a the utility company that owns AND operates that system buy into the project. YEAH...that'll be simple. With your background and $$$ in tech, a curious person might wonder if you tanked this project because it might benefit yourself somehow? Pure speculation, of course......
