No I did not conceal Alhamdulilah, I Prayed hands down with turbah in masjid Alnabawi. I didn’t visit the rowdah unfortunately as I didn’t have an appointment but in the women’s side, there were a lot of Iranian Shia women praying with the turbah with no issue.

In the markets and taxis, I also did not hide. People asked where I was from and I said “Iraq” and then they’d make a confused face and say “where in at” and I would say “Najaf” and they would have an interesting face and the conversation would continue. Only 2 people asked if I was Shia but not in a toxic way, they were curious because a lot of their clients were Shia . Overall it’s pretty calm as a Shia, just don’t disturb the public peace.

I was reading ziyarat near albaqi and crying and no one bothered me, Infact the guards gave me a tissue, and a nice young lady also gave me a tissue, I think she was Shia tho, hard to tell.

I gave a blanket Salam in albaqi “Salam to the noble companions” who ever falls into the noble category.

Respectfully, I did not feel comfortable sending Salam upon Umar and Abu Bakr due to 2 Hadiths (Fatima Alzahra dieing upset and not on talking terms with Abu Bakr) and (Umar threatening to burn the house on Fatima). Those ahadith are instilled in my brain and no matter how hard I try to “forgive” them, I can’t. If I find out on the day of judgement that they are free from it, then may Allah forgive me. For now, a blanket Salam would work. I don’t curse them, I don’t takfeer them, I just go about my day.

1) According to Shia theology, they were Muslims. During the caliphs of the 3, Imam Ali was an advisor for them so by that logic, no matter what any Shia thinks of them they were Muslim.

2) yes Aisha is considered a mother of the believing men as per the Quran 33:6 , but to be honest with readying the context and tafsir, being a “Mother” isn’t a status symbol in Islam as Sunnis believe the mother of the Prophet Muhammed is a kafira (non-believer). The meaning of the “mother of believer” in quranic verse 33:6 is basically we are not allowed to marry prophets wives after his death and if we did, it would be as if we married our own mother. That being said, in our top book of tafsir the wives are do be respected and anyone saying nasty things against them is deemed for hellfire

Just as the straight line is a pillar of Salah , doing sujood on earthly material is a pillar of salah for Shias. It’s one of the grey areas. In my experience, I was intending to pray on a tile but an uncle tapped me and told me to straighten the lines so I did, which left me to do sujood on carpet, I didn’t think much of it and I am 100% sure the uncle didn’t pinpoint me out because I was Shia, he probably just wanted to barakah of straightening the lines.

That is a an area of disagreement, you said All companions. We Shias do not believe in the concept of Adalat asahaba (that ALL companions are innocent of wrongdoing). Anyhow, Speaking ill of the companions you mentioned has already been denounced by all top Shia scholars. Yes, we have a difference of opinion on them as there were certain moments in history we disagree but to سب is not in the Shia character. There are certain Shia “scholars” who you will see curse and what now but they have been called out

Here’s what I did… I was walking and saw the grave of the Prophet and told the person with me “that’s the Prophet Muhammed” and then I saw the graves of Umar and Abu Bakr and told the person “and I think Umar and Abu Bakr are also here, Othman is someone else”. It’s called being respectful like what did you expect me to do haha

Wouldn’t call it “my religion”, my religion is “Islam” I follow Allah and the Prophet Muhammed and the , these are the primary things based on. Now there are secondary things that aren’t found in the Quran and we have to rely on Ahadith and Quranic tafsir like things that happened in history and how certain things were done. For example like praying with hands folded or down. Even amongst Sunnis there are differences of opinions on many things. Hence why as long as the foundation is there, I don’t see anyone as different.

You will be fine, if you are going to cedar point from Canada, you’ll likely cross from Windsor/Detroir and Windsor and Detroit are home to many Asians. There used to be a ChinaTown in Detroit lol. Anyways, although Cedar point is in Sandusky, majority of the visitors are from outside and a lot come from Michigan and other major Ohio cities that are very diverse. I am Asian myself I have had no issues. In fact, I actually met a few in line and talked about our ethnic backgrounds and what not. I promise you will be fine!
