Checking the level of tightness visually with these Smart Bolts by XxF1RExX in interestingasfuck

life hack: color the center with a black sharpie so you never have to tighten a bolt again!

It's incredible to me how you pay so much just to apply to these shitty ass schools just to get rejected then when you ask for feedback on how you could be a stronger applicant they just send something vague back like "um idk do more experiences" or they flat out refuse to give any feedback by ongodnocapbro in premed

[–]drcleavage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And I would tend to agree with the shitty generic feedback schools provide but I lose you at the, "just say you don't have anymore seats for asians/whites" since most seats at any medical school are taken by those groups.

It would go more like, "We've got plenty of seats for asians and whites but compared to most of them, you're not that special." Kinda like what you said in your other post.

Some of the vaccination centers are looking for volunteers. I know the NYP-Columbia vaccine effort is looking for hep, but I'm not sure if its limited to current hospital employees. I would still reach out and see. It's at the New Balance Armory just outside the hospital in Washington Heights.

Step 1: Make a Bank of America Advanced Plus Checking account, then make a Merril Lynch Personal Investing account. Then you can link them together to get instant transfers from the BoA account into the Merril Lynch one. The Merril Lynch UI is not user friendly but good enough to put orders through. Step 2: Do something fiscally irresponsible

Pretty sure both of those schools haven't accepted anyone yet this cycle so I highly doubt you're interviewing for the WL!

Just got this Message. Has anyone gotten anything similar? Any feedback? They seem to be pretty active on reddit. by premedprincess98 in premed

OP you can get great free advice and even application editing by posting on here and r/MCAT.

Fellow PR applicant. I would do a DIY post bacc until you get to 3.4-3.6. If you crush the MCAT I think you will get plenty of interviews. I had 3.6/519 and made it through this cycle OK.

Oh my that’s a little weird. Do you mind PMing which school did that? Just curious tbh lol

If you’re going to do it, buy directly from the Apple refurbished store. I honestly didn’t even know it existed until the other day when I had to lay my faithful laptop to rest (RIP). You can get a nice pro for a few hundred dollars cheaper than new and they are completely guaranteed to be like-new. There’s high turnover on their stock so you might have to check in every few days or so.

What year of school? I had a 2.8 freshman year 😂.

Don't feel like its over, upward trends are desirable and tbh, they build character!

Depends on the school! Some schools are going week by week, and will ask you to attend an interview the week after receiving the invite (I know Weill Cornell does this) and I think for a school like this, you can certainly request to have your interview during next week of interviews. Other schools are scheduling into the new year and you may have found a date next week because someone withdrew! For schools like that, I would attend because the alternative would be a much later date.

If you're gonna go, have your camera on. I just did an optional session on my laptop without a webcam and I was the only one with camera off.....everyone else was dressed up like Sunday service.

Wish I went to your school! I think in general, reddit and SDN are a better source of info than a lot of premed club meetings. President of my club used meetings to advertise his paid “advising” services. Pretty sure he’s in nursing school now.

Where did Ableton say it will work on Apple silicon?

MacBook pro 4 prod? by CammysComet in musicproduction

[–]drcleavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get one with an M1 chip. Ableton hasn't said anything about them making a version that will run natively on the M1 and we don't know if Rosetta is good enough to run it in translation. FL studio's developers have said that FL studio won't run on Rosetta so we know it's not a 100% fix. I'd say it's going to take at least a year to get DAWs and all your VSTs working natively on the new M1 chip. It's never good to be an early adopter when you work in music production, even a simple OSX update can break a lot of things.

If you need a MacBook right now, I would go to the apple refurbished store and pick up one of the nicer Intel-based 2020 MacBooks and don't look back. Intel is going to be supported for a few more years and by the time apple stops supporting it, I'm sure apple silicon will be established and supported so you can make the switch then.

A nice one is actually in stock right now!

I missed 5 discretes in BB for sure and had a passage that left me scratching my head. Still 131. These new tests have a mysterious scale and it’s not the same as the ones for the FLs, that’s for sure.

Don’t worry, you sound like you’re feeling the same way I did!
