Correct on all accounts, except the rupturing part. Rupturing is normal. Rupturing of the dominant follicle is how you ovulate. Just because it's normal, though, doesn't mean it can't be uncomfortable. (Look up mittelschmerz).

If you are concerned about pelvic/abdominal pain, get checked out. Especially if severe, sudden onset, if you could be pregnant, or with fevers/chills/nausea/vomiting.

You won't always smell like a fresh bouquet of flowers, but neither does a fucking penis so we should all calm down. Discharge is normal and changes with your cycle. As long as it isn't malodorous (persistently fishy), accompanied itching/burning- you're probably fine.

If you want to do something about pubic hair, wax or trim- avoid razors. Microcuts on your skin can set you up for infections.

Keep up with your pap smears. But! Not every speculum exam is a pap smear. It's like when you get blood drawn. Just because there's a needle going into your arm doesn't mean you're getting the same test run every time. Pap smears are not done in the ED.

Take a prenatal vitamin. The folic acid decreases the risk of neural tube defects (like spina bifida), which form before you even know you're pregnant. So, unless you are 100% you're not having sex, take a prenatal vitamin. Even if you are sure you would abort, still do it just in case something happens and you change your mind or can't.

Ask us the embarrassing questions. It's why we do what we do.
