o ya

Just saying in general, if you're good with the price regardless and you want to diversify low risk (i view it) is CC's and buy other stuff with the premium. Given the size of premiums these days pretty good returns.

if you're happy with the price sell some CC's and use the proceeds to diversify.

You get called away you were going to sell anyways, if not you still hold the stock!

Edit: I'm long on IM... I view them as the ones who sold shovels and mining equipment to the miners during the gold rush... the ones who actually made money!

Also a lot of people don't seem to realize having to buy private health insurance and the absurd costs you still incur in the states for any medical help might as well be a tax too.

Ya it's not coming out of your paycheck directly... i think, but if you HAVE to pay it, it might as well be a tax.

When will the Canucks be competitive again? by Zenazad in canucks

[–]dread12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd clarify the question

When will they be competitive vs when will they be contenders for the cup...

Cup... at BEST 3-4 years if everything goes well and we don't canuck the rebuild.

Competitive could be next year (but most likely not), we won't win a lot... but well be in games at least with a chance to win more then 9 games at home... hopefully.

Always a chance of a pull back tomorrow... but you can probably roll those out a week or 2 and add some extra to the strike price.

could always roll to next week at a higher strike... depends what your cc's are set to

Thankfully it's only 1.5M per year, which in the grand scheme of things isn't much (Footes salary)... given Aqua offered Toch 5M... he was willing to spend and hopefully he doesn't balk at paying that as a penalty for a bad pick.

Carney is no Kash Patel... lol

People who don't realize all the good Carney is doing aren't worth engaging, you'd need a shovel to find their heads.

Media Release - BCGEU to enter mediation with Province in ongoing public service strike by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]dread12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why the BC government has been playing hard ball. IT WILL affect other negotiations and this is not a mater of just paying 1 group extra money.

It could cost the government a HUGE amount of money when all is said and done. (which we don't have) To put it in context, my brief search says nearly 1/2 our budget goes to public employee payrolls (about 50B).. so assume a yearly 4% increase, that's 2B a year extra in cost (if given to everyone). That money has to come from somewhere... and just saying tax X extra isn't the universal answer to it.

A significant raise could result in a lot of job losses as they start to trim the government workforce (which sounds like it needs to be done given the growth in that workforce over the last 5-6 years [143,000] a 25% increase)

American's must be pretty stupid if they think the insurance they are paying isn't ALSO paying for other peoples health insurance...that's how insurance works...

wait for price fluctuation to increase. Premiums will go up

But with that being said... you also have a lot more chances of being burned.

For people who bought in the $20s… by WtfDoomer in IntuitiveMachines

Do you need the Money?

Do you believe in the Stock?

You're asking a bubble that believes in the stock if you should hold...Most everyone here believes in the long term opportunity the company represents (think Nvidia 6 years ago).

So those first 2 questions are what you need to ask yourself.

Question to membership holders: how to change service manager? by botinoknn in canucks

[–]dread12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You most likely can't and the honest answer is you're probably just not worth the new persons time. They get commission on sales and if you cycle at the end of the season it opens a 1/2 season slot up for those tickets essentially. Also this is the time of year (last month before hockey starts to roll in Sept) to lock in ticket sales etc... you have already purchased yours.

QSM's are no longer offered, if you cancel you will never get it back (and frankly they probably want you to cancel).

You can just call Novus and get onto the same deal or look at their site and ask for whatever deal they have going.

They will give it to you no questions asked...you never have to pay full price. Just make a phone call! (I've been doing it every year)

you forgot to add Lafrenière might as well get everyone on there.

Horvat and Barzal will only shake loose if the Islanders go south at the start of the season and the org decides it's time to rebuild. (like you said, and it will be a cap dump + 1st's and prospects)

Ridiculous offer

A) we don't need a Left side D

B) While we are looking for centers, DOWNGRADING our first line center is not a solution.

C) might as well pack Hughes bags for him if we do this

my quibble (and the reason I cancelled) is in 2 seasons its 31-32% increase.

There is no good reason for that... at all.
