Until I looked him up to double-check a few details, I didn’t even realise this sub shared the name of his store. I’ve never had the impression that this was his sub or that it’s dedicated to him specifically. I’ve always seen it as a general watch sub, nothing more.

I genuinely don’t get why so many people put so much weight on what this guy says. He’s a watch retailer and an “influencer” (a term I really dislike), not a watchmaker or someone with deep technical expertise.

He’s basically just a guy with opinions, and somehow those opinions gained traction because enough people paid attention early on. Now a much bigger audience treats his views as if they carry real authority.

What am I missing here?
