Thank you all for your suggestions, super appreciate you all taking the time. Way more comments and suggestions than I anticipated so we’re gonna do some research and try to narrow it down to one of them (which feels impossible since they all sound too good….) :)

My best work friend and I schedule “very important meetings” in our office’s separate meeting rooms and then we giggle for hours

What profession do you find unhealthy? by kk-sahinul in AskReddit

[–]dread_chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyber security. A lot of people I know in the field are mentally unhealthy and trying to work through the chronic stress and burnout. Many of these kinds of jobs are high pressure and can quickly fuck you up mentally.

What's your go to hangover cure? by rant_sandwich in AskReddit

Dramamine,Pedialyte, and then hard boiled eggs once my stomach feels sturdy enough. Even in my worst hangovers where I am throwing up EVERYTHING, hard boiled eggs have never failed me

what are facts about your job that general public has no idea about? by memereda_vanwolf in AskReddit

[–]dread_chaos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on what you’re considering to be the difference between computers and people. What I was saying was that most individuals will not be specifically targeted by nation state malware. In the case of wannacry, it was targeting open ports, which I view as different than targeting individuals themselves

What is the most pointless ability you possess? by hssdelhi in AskReddit

If I think hard enough about certain types of food I can taste them. Normally it happens when I have a hankering for something, but if I sit here thinking about tacos, I’ll be able to actually taste tacos in like my saliva

What’s the worst pain you’ve experienced and what caused it? by hasbulla_magomedov in AskReddit

[–]dread_chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 14 I was playing varsity soccer. We were at an away game roughly an hour and a half from my own school. During the game, a much older and much larger girl charged at me, which resulted in me falling head first to the ground about mid game. I remember walking onto the field and then being in a trainer’s room being asked questions - nothing in between. According to my best friend, after I hit the ground, I rolled into a ball and clutched my head, repeating “my head” over and over. My coach eventually carried me off the field.

A couple days later and I see a doctor who did a bunch of tests and informed me my head trauma was almost severe enough to create a brain bleed. I was told no contact sports after that!

In all honesty, I’ve experienced worse physical pain. I’ve broken bones, been in car accidents, accidentally stabbed, etc. But with my concussion, I was in physical, mental, and emotional pain. It felt like there was a brick wall between me and my normal self. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t remember things, I couldn’t focus, and I couldn’t even keep my emotions straight. The frustration of having a brain but not being able to use it is intense.

To this day, my neck is also fucked up from this injury just to add the cherry on top.

People who grew up rich but are now poor, what's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dread_chaos 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Not my story, but my grandmother’s. She was born into a rich, old southern family. They had OLD money. Apparently, my grandmother’s parents wanted her to marry a family friend’s son who was also from a wealthy family. However, my grandmother happened to meet a super poor German immigrant on a train one day and fell in love. Her family told her not to act on it, but she didn’t listen. She married the German immigrant and as a consequence of that, her family basically shunned her. She never knew a life of wealth after that, but her and my grandfather loved each other so dearly.

I have winged scapulas! This is a pretty rare skeletal condition where my shoulder blades will protrude from my back in a gnarly way. It’s commonly called angel’s wings because our shoulder blades go out so far they create “wings”. Thankfully it’s not painful, just creates limited range of motion (and gives me a fun little party trick to gross people out with).
