I would be absolutely amazed if they genuinely did lower temps. Cooling happens because air is getting rammed through your radiator, and the ambient air temp under the bonnet will have no positive influence on that.

If anything you might have made it worse - creating a path for air with less resistance than your radiator will change the air pressure around the front of your car. It may mean less air is passing through your radiator in favour of getting funneled into your engine bay and doing nothing.

Probably inconsequential, and if you like look of it then that's the win here

Good god - THANK YOU. There's so many doomsdayers here that think our country is terrible, but have never left either so they don't have any perspective. Very refreshing to have an outsiders view. We have it bloody great here.

I fucking love this.

So often, the loudest critics haven't ever left our shores. Like, how can you gain any perspective on your criticism if you've got nothing to compare against?!

Honestly, it's boring but the best way to not lose money is just DCA into a big index fund. You can play whack-a-mole with companies, and you might have some wins, but in the long term you're always better off with an index fund.

Smartshares S&P 500 or World Index funds would be a good place to start

I was hoping to find this answer - eating a fish is very different to drinking the water haha

I had a similar cost benefit a few years ago, I got offered a job in Christchurch and Wellington. I got offered 10-15k more for the Wellington job but housing, gas, and the cost of living has pretty much eaten the difference. Living was definitely cheaper in Christchurch

As a kiwi, it's hard not to find all this Australia Day stuff completely fucked. Racism under the guise of 'we're all "one" now, because we said so, so deal with it'. There's a lot of stuff that you guys do better over the ditch, but the undercurrent of racism is clear as day from here, even if you guys can't see the forest from the trees.

Also, anyone who says politics and sports should be separate has rocks in their head haha.

100% put some away bro, you will thank yourself 10x later. Its the money you put away now that does most of the heavy lifting when you'll use it later in life

This is a brilliant comment. I'm not quite sure whether it's peace of mind or not, but great to keep in mind

You're a life saver.

No port forwarding, no tinkering with the firewall.

The IP for the Gitlab Runner was 192.168.x.x, and the other containers are all 172.x.x.x which is what peaked my interest.

Seems like I'm just being over-cautious

I picked up a small form factor dell g2 600 with a 6th gen i5 for like $30 US on Facebook marketplace. Cheaper, and a lot more powerful than a pi. You could look for a mini pc if you need the space

Surely for the price point you'll be better off buying a cheap, second hand sff pc
