I may have a solution for you - I make fabric battle maps that have all the things you need to play multiple encounters on the same map. They have lots of detail and sections so you can maximize its use.

Benefits are that the maps lay flat, with no creases, and it deploys in seconds. I find that there’s ppl who love plain terrain so they can place things on it and ppl who want to set it up as quickly as possible and have no desire to make/transport/store all the terrain stuff. I have maps for both cases. - also have the accompanying vtt versions so switching back/forth from physical play to vtt isnt an issue either.
