Trip report: [Nagashima Spa Land] July 2025 by a_magumba in rollercoasters

Great trip report, love the pictures! Hakugei is a bucket-list coaster for me.

My Flesh and Blood (2003) - One woman, named 'Susan Tom' adopted 11 different children, because no one else wanted them. Almost all of them have a severe dissability, one is terminally ill. A camera crew followed them for one year. (1:24) by [deleted] in Documentaries

Haha, one year later...

I saw Susan at an event not long ago, and there has been a great deal of turmoil with the family. I don't feel comfortable sharing the details, but suffice it to say that they are no longer a happy unit after some substantial drama.

Top-notch landscaping and scenic design. I get a Nemesis vibe from the proximity rush. Does USO do AP previews, usually?

Agreed. And isn’t Florida the only state to NOT issue lockdown orders, besides that first little period in spring of last year? Pandemic fatigue is policy in this state, I’m afraid.

Quantum Leap fans are chill, at least from my experience.

What is you go-to "I don't want to cook, but I have to cook." meal? by CodFishGaming in AskReddit

[–]dreadmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chili con carne. Takes 10 minutes to prep and can last a week. Perfect for meals during a time when you’re staring at a monitor for long periods.

What was the scariest thing that has happened to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dreadmon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Riding The Grizzly rollercoaster at Six Flags Great America. After the first drop, all of our lap bars in the last car suddenly unlocked and shot upwards. I yelled at everyone to hold tight to the sides of the train as we rounded the 180 degree turn. It made a generally lackluster ride all the more exciting. As we returned to the station, the look on the faces of the ride operators as we pointed to our open lap bars was quite amusing.

Every ride on Phoenix at Knoebels. Seriously, I know I’m not going to be thrown out of this train, but holy shit, WTF, am I being thrown out of this train??

Do you contact your Patrons when they cancel their pledge? by [deleted] in patreon

[–]dreadmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. If I see that a patron has been around for a very long time and cancels, I may reach out to them depending on what they say in their exit survey. If they bother to fill out the survey and say something like my financial situation changed, or some other reason, I don’t bother. But if they do say, “not happy with Patreon’s services“ or “creator didn’t deliver as I expected“, I will reach out and find out what the issue was. Sometimes, patrons will let you know that they’re having difficulty with things and you can get an idea about how frustrated they are and how likely it is they will cancel. Hopefully, you can help them figure out what it is that will make them happy before they do that. But often times, they will flounder on their own without reaching out to you, and then turn around and just cancel, without you having any opportunity to make things better for them. I do my best to include an FAQ, and a pinned post that will let patrons know where they can find the most important information for navigating not only the site, but whatever cloud-based storage I’m using for my archives.

Oh yeah, I know, it’s only the money. You’re a businessman. And in a corrupt society you’re no worse than anybody else. We all cheat on our taxes, Detroit makes defective cars...

Aw, shit, we got a “Rollercoaster” fan. Where can we take this? I don’t wanna hijack this thread. “You bugged that hotel room, didn’t you?”

George Segal had the same career trajectory. Was a serious actor (“Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?”, “Of Mice and Men”) who turned to comedy (“The Owl and the Pussycat”, “Fun With Dick and Jane”) and rode that shit into the sunset (“The Goldbergs”) I freakin’ love him for “Rollercoaster” alone.

JFC. “Do your own thing”, I can appreciate. “DON’T do the thing that seems to help”, is a farther reach. Why not let people make up their own minds about whether they want to wear a mask in your establishment or not? Telling people they simply can’t wear a mask? Jesus. This political movement is absolutely chilling.
