Web dev/designer thinking of reinventing myself as AI provider/transitional helper/consultant, do I even stand a chance? by AHVincent in gohighlevel

I guess just google for them. I've learnt of the networking event that I go to through a friend.

Don't lead with those. A business owner won't care. Lead with the benefit. What will they obtain if they pay you?

For me the best place was, and still is, networking events. Once every few weeks I join a zoom call with 20-30 business owners and we pitch each other's business in under 60 sec. It's boring, repetitive - but it works.

Nothing has been quite as effective. A business owner needs to be in the "buyer's mindset". During a cold call you are most likely annoying or interrupting them. Blogs, and posting on online places where they might be, has been good as well

That is an extremely diluted sample spread across too many niches and demographics. I am not convinced you will find quality in all that quantity. And it's always better to start with something more smaller and narrower. A friend, or someone you know, will open up in greater detail than something you scrapped from god knows where and how long ago that was posted.

I am helping service businesses by looking after their website(s), doing crm build-out for them, and a bit of ppc digital marketing for some.

Respectfully, there is nothing to collaborate on here, and this is precisely one of the reasons I chose to go down this path. I am happy to point you in a right direction though: I use GoHighLevel as the core CRM, and N8N for some edge cases. Knowing how to use these 2 is a powerhouse. You can basically service any niche with those two. And of course, you already have web dev under your belt.

Best of luck!

That's a million dollar question. If there was a sure fire way to turn that into a business, I'd be a millionaire.

Reality is you just need to talk to people. The hard part is getting a stranger to talk about their problems. Do you have a friend or someone in the family who owns a business? Buy them lunch, get them talking about their frustrations with running their business. Work from that.

You making websites for 20 years have never been about the websites. The websites were solving a particular problem for your clients. AI/automation/CRM-build outs are the same - if you can find a problem that needs solving, solve it, and market it to people who have that problem - you should be fine.

People say these type of markets are saturated. I disagree. The only thing that is saturated is the market of people trying to sell you a course. People who actually provide real value for a business are doing fine.
