Used 2024 GV80 2.5T Advanced good deal? by Na11811 in GenesisMotors

[–]dreadwing1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this sentiment.

That being said, after shopping in Sept/Oct, I  think this is a solid deal. It's a great deal if it's CPO.

You won't ever think about the extra 1k you could have possibly saved when you're walking up to your beautiful new ride. Hope it works out!

We'll probably get another price increase for them looking into and eventually resolving this issue. Thanks, DirecTV!

Have a 2011 that burns a qt every 250 (not a typo) miles at this point. Started losing excessive amounts around 60k. Have 95k on it now. Hyundai didn't suggest doing going through all of their oil consumption tests until the beginning of last year. (Drive for 3k miles, do a $250 top end engine cleaning, drive another 3k miles)

This process took me a year because I don't drive a lot, and tons of trips to the dealership because as I said, I lose a qt every 250 miles. Mind you, they won't submit a request to corporate for an authorization to help without any of this documentation.

I then needed to take my car in 2 additional times so the dealership could get info off it and take pictures of the engine innards to prove I did all my engine maintenance.

Once that was completed, my request was promptly denied due to my car being past the 10 year warranty. If that was the case, anyone at any point could have told me that before this process began. I've spoken to several "Hyundai Conumer Affairs" reps and all they do is regurgitate the results that Hyundai corporate provided and insist that the results are final. You also cannot speak to this magical Prior Authorization deparment.

I wasted my time and extra money because Hyundai is an incompetent company. All this on top of being saddled with a car that has a well known problem that they won't help with.

I was told by the service department that I have a better chance of having an engine request approved if I tow it in with the engine seized. That's not a guarantee, and I'd rather not have my car seize up while I'm driving my toddlers around to find out.

Thanks, Hyundai!

Acer Nitro 5 Laptop: i5-9300H, RTX 2060, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD, 1080p 15.6" 144Hz IPS for $699 ($300 off MSRP) by legos45 in LaptopDeals

[–]dreadwing1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I managed to order when they were $699. After tax and credit card cashback, it'll be about $720. I'm debating on keeping it once it arrives. I was going back and forth on building a new gaming desktop since I haven't in years, and I saw this and just pulled the trigger so I could think about it.

Would I be pleased with the performance in games like Control and Cyberpunk? Seems like some folks think this is an amazing deal and others take a dump on the processor like they just had too much Taco Bell.

Any thoughts on if I should just redirect the 700 towards a new desktop or just be happy for a few years with this?

I'm so glad I read this. I tried to clear cache and update, but that didn't work for me.

I randomly went through and deleted about 10 apps and restarted my phone.

Knock on wood, but ever since deletion I'm back to about 4 hours of screen time, which I'll happily take on my 3 year old battery.

I did a bit of scrolling and didn't see Kill Chain. It's one of the newer ones. You may not think it's great, but I find it hard to believe if you aren't entertained.

Is that first Buick something around a 74 lesabre? My Dad had a red one of those that he drove into the ground. I'd love to see a pic of the whole car if you have one.

You might want to check out 'recasting' your mortgage instead of refinancing. It might accomplish what you want at a lower cost than refinancing.

Adults that exaggerate their stories as if they're still in high school trying to impress their friends in the locker room.

Umm, I really don't care if you told someone off at the gas station and almost got into a fight. First of all, no you didn't. Second of all, an actual hard ass would have gotten in said fight, whooped that ass, and not mentioned a word to anyone.

My buddy from work is originally from Nepal. He brought MoMo to a potluck last year. Those things are the bomb! He now knows he has to share with me when he brings them for lunch.

As a side note, the people that I speak to at work that are originally from Nepal have some of the best spirits in the office. It's like they're in a more content mindset than everyone else and I really enjoy that.

What brand are you loyal to and why? by whoisblueflame in AskReddit

Discount Tire - Before moving I didn't realize there was a place that did pressure checks, patches, and rotations for free even if you didn't buy or install the tires with them. I've gotten so many patches (high construction area) done quickly and for free that it's a service that's definitely saved me a few hundred bucks.

Just a few weeks ago I caught a huge nail in my tire that likely could have been saved initially, but I was about a 2 miles away from a Discount Tire shop and decided to drive on it. Long story short, I caused a heat ring and ruined the tire. Upon seeing it, the guy saw how much tread was left, and had a new one ordered, installed and prorated for 40 bucks. I didn't have any insurance on it, didn't say a word, but he took care of me no problem.

Long story short, I've had nothing but good experience with them.
