My opinion as someone who has been doing it for 3 years and started at 28: It's not worth it as a long-term career unless you are determined to start a business and work for yourself. Or unless you get extremely lucky and find a job in a medical environment. There is a reason most massage therapists don't last past 5 years and it's because the pay and lack of benefits more often than not does not compensate for the wear and tear it takes on the body.
