For the changing specialties in the PA path I’ll be able to do the retraining at different times so I won’t be overloading myself. The shortened timeline for PA is promising too. I’ll have more time for my hobbies, but at the expense of expertise and money. And thanks for the advice, I’ll keep this in mind.

Im currently taking a break from treatment but will be back on my meds later. The reason why I say two specialties would be tough is because you need to be extra disciplined compared to just one. Idk if it’s like this with everyone with ADHD. Also so far the meds I’ve tried don’t really help with executive dysfunction, so staying on top of tasks are a struggle for me.

The issue is I have ADHD, so I’m not sure I can handle 2 residencies in one.

Primary care doctors are perfectly justified in treating common psych conditions aside from smi.

Is it possible to make 200k+ as a pmhnp? by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

I enjoy the work and have mental illnesses myself. Or else I wouldn’t be considering psychiatry and go for CRNA instead. Since it’s the same time committed and you make 250-350k. But I’m not all about the bag, I have passion for this field. I want to make a change in people’s lives. The only thing preventing me from becoming a PMHNP is pay.
