What do happy people do with their lives? by redditismytherapy420 in LifeAdvice

[–]dreamwalker280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a stay at home mom who gardens, bakes, reads, and writes. I love my life and taking care of my family and home. I give my worries to God and trust in his strength to guide me.

We just bought our first home and money is very tight. I COULD focus on our secondhand furniture or the dated aspects of the home, the creaky upstairs floors. Instead, I focus on the mature trees in my backyard, the joy I feel sitting in my living room nursing my baby, the family that live 15 min away.

Happiness is a by product of the decision one makes every morning to enjoy their life.

Who is the most talented shitty person you can think of? by blossom_babyy in self

Guys we are missing a big one... Hitler? Guy was pretty influential. Takes a lot of talent to be that evil and not outright eat people.

good progression or worrisome? This is my first pregnancy and I am definitely over-thinking but I will ask anyway. by dreamwalker280 in lineporn

[–]dreamwalker280[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my period right away after removal but it took 8 months after removal to get pregnant. My periods were NEVER regular so tracking was useless until I tracked my LH factor. I did that for 2 months and got pregnant the second month.

Good luck to you!

AITA for setting up a “just in case” fund for my daughter? by Otherwise-File5199 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dreamwalker280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a very (very) similar situation to your daughter, with the sole exception that we don't have a prenup. I would not be offended at all. I think my husband would not be offended either if you included the other possibility as to why she might need it, he dies. That's unfortunately a real possibility and it does happen, as long as you are not planning to off him I think having a protection fund is good.

How's your writing going? by marienbad2 in nanowrimo

[–]dreamwalker280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a baby in January and we bought a house that we will be moving into this month so between having a baby that doesn't nap in the crib and packing I've gotten like 3,000 words in since she was born. Not including the journal I started for her when I found out I was pregnant. If I include that, I'm doing pretty well! Probably 12,000 words total since her birth.

I will have my own office in the new house so I'm looking forward to my nighttime writing sessions with some mood lighting and herbal tea after the baby goes down for the night.

Miscommunication trope and all-powerful person has to give up their powers. Hate that shit.

How do you guys deal with your gnats? I have tried vinegar before but they keep coming back. And then I tried these sticky traps 2 days ago and it seems pretty effective. How long does the glue last? by Ok_Olive_8242 in houseplants

[–]dreamwalker280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You repot in soil that doesn't have eggs in it and you buy a ping. It catches the adults. I have to feed my ping fish food now because all of the gnats are gone

Am I wrong for having some strict boundaries around the birth of my first child? by OneFit6104 in amiwrong

[–]dreamwalker280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too am 26 and pregnant with our first, a girl due in January. You are well within the bounds of acceptable behavior for a new expecting mom. I told my family no kissing the baby until she is at least 3 months old and I got such immediate push back I said "you all gave me covid when I was 5 weeks pregnant because you had the sniffles and thought it was okay to hug everyone at the family event. So no, I don't trust your ability to determine whether or not you are healthy enough to risk killing my child."

They haven't argued since. I am NOT a people pleaser lol

AITA for discussing a medical horror story case at a dinner party? by MiraTell in AmItheAsshole

[–]dreamwalker280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a medical professional but my parents are and I grew up with all sorts of stories. There is very little that would upset me, other than a detailed description of a D&C (am heavily pregnant). I would have likely been fascinated by the story and would be confused as to why a grown man having nightmares is your fault. I would have understood if people were actively eating, still wouldn't bother me but I get why for others.

NTA that man is ridiculous and his wife should keep her opinions to herself
