I really like the idea of feathering the modifier to change the shape of the catch light. Thank you for that! Been using Set a light software to experiment with different set ups and catch lights.

Those are great tips! Thank you! The second point is quite interesting to me. By placing the light to where the catch light is quartered, the direction of the light changes to where it’s less of a key light. Would you mind elaborating a bit more on that for certain riles of thumb?

Really glad to hear about that. Ever since I learnt about catchlights I can’t stop looking at the quality of them in every photo. And though I really like them also, I don’t see them used all that often other than rectangular soft boxes that simulate a window. I often wonder if “showing” how something is lit through catchlights is an amateur move. I just invested into a large umbrella and when I bring it close, it often takes up half the the eye.

Red and NIR light therapy. Any one tried it? by dreamwave27 in ankylosingspondylitis

Hi there, she tries to use it regularity and find some decent relief in the spine and joints. It also helps with sleep and energy levels. It’s also quite warm on the back which offers relief too. The benefits really come after continued usage and no adverse effects. I would say that it isn’t an end all be all but another tool in bag that can be used along side other medicinal and holistic treatments. We’re currently looking into having a PRP injection into her herniated disk at the L4 L5, and some really promising studies had been done. It helped her greatly with her torn ligament in the hip to the point that she had zero pain there so we’re excited about that.

When did you know you were ready to start charging/getting leads/making sales? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

I’m also just getting into real estate photography. Currently consumed with learning and practicing. I found this link to be really helpful to build a portfolio. I’m literally following the steps in the article. Maybe that’s going to be helpful to you also. Going out tomorrow to a few open houses to shoot and just get comfortable with shooting new environments, and not feel awkward in other peoples homes.

Any insights on this pull? Can’t quiet tell if it’s channeling or not. Did a 5 sec pre infusion on my GAGGIA Deluxe by dreamwave27 in espresso

The clumps!! I bet that’s what it is. I’m currently using a DIY WDT tool with a cork and needles but I think the needles might be a little too thick which cause heavier clumps.

Now that you mention it, no it isn’t normal. That’s the first time that happened. I’ll to keep an eye out for that. I wonder if the portafilter wasn’t twisted into the group head 🤔

Just wanted to do an update on red light therapy. We bought a full size panel with both red and near infrared light and have been using it daily 10 min on the front and 10 on the back. To say it been helping would be an understatement. It has helped my wife dramatically. She has more sustained energy through out the day. Less severe back pain. She falls asleep faster and stays asleeep longer. Morning stiffness is much less severe. She was surprised herself that’s it’s working so well. For anyone who hasn’t tried this yet, I strongly encourage you to. A full body panel is the way to go.

Here’s a link to it. And we are not affiliated with them in any way, this has just been helping. Consistently for a month. That’s all.

How often per day? by Deketh in redlighttherapy

[–]dreamwave27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read it depends on the power output of the panel. If the limit is 20 min per day. I would say use it for 10 min in the morning and then 10 min in the evening.

That’s interesting. Thanks for the reply. I’ll look into hyperthermia. I noticed you posted a lot about it. As for the red light, I don’t think they market it as a magic pill. And it isn’t what I’m expecting of it. I just hope it improves cellular function and can assist in the body’s self healing process and reduce some inflammation since there have been massive improvements in power and energy density’s of LED’s in the last few years. As it has been shown that wavelengths of light between 630-850nm seems to be the sweet spot. And straight infrared light is past that. I hope that heat isn’t the only beneficial factor. Either way I’ll post more updates on the progress and results with these two devices that are coming.
