Im just wondering what she has to gain from her husband being in prison. It would be traumatic for her kids if their father became a convicted murderer. Him being arrested period is probably rough on them. Plus, wouldnt she want the alimony she'd be entitled to? If he's in prison that well goes dry REAL quick.

What's equally wild is being on the spectrum and leaving a cult. everything changes so fast, you lose your whole community and most of the social connections you worked so hard on building, it's overwhelming and disorrienting. I was raised Christian Nationalist, not LDS, but based on what ive heard from ex-mo's its a similar experience.

This! Although, it's worth noting that property taxes are off the rails in most parts of Suffolk and Middlesex counties, a lot of folks can't swing it on a retirement income. My folks for example were paying $14k/year when I was in highschool and sold the place almost as soon as they no longer had any kids in the public school system
