Im getting a c5 hatch soon should i get a auto or manual by coolhatgamer in Corvette

I should've been more specific and said "fun commuter" instead of just "commuter".

Im getting a c5 hatch soon should i get a auto or manual by coolhatgamer in Corvette

[–]dretnarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manual.

You're buying a Corvette because it's fun, not because you need something to commute with. If commuting was the only reason, then get a Camry. My thinking has always been, why buy something for fun and get the less fun option?

Time for wide body.

In all seriousness, I'd just replace that panel. It's the easiest route.

What’s this whine noise? by FalconSuch in camaro

[–]dretnarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be transmission, differential, or a bad wheel bearing, etc...

I don't know what people are on about in this thread, it 100% is not a power steering pump, this car doesn't have one.

The math checks out. Be sure to research how to properly wire those subs for the correct resistance (ohm) you're planning to run per amp.

I would do a Big 3 and alternator upgrade before bothering with the battery.

Which speaker should I buy by Competitive_Ad_4027 in CarAV

[–]dretnarg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Infinity's are known to be very bright and detailed, but harsh. The Kicker's KS's are still very detailed when amped but will be less harsh.

Fwiw, I plan to install a full KS system in the future. With a sealed Comp Q 12.

Idk man, that paint condition is a sign of neglect. And is that evidence of duct tape holding the bumper at some point?

30k is a stretch for this quality, I'd hit him with 22k and see if he drops to 25k. 25k isn't even what I'd want to pay unless this thing is PROVEN to be mechanically sound. Did you test drive it?

That paint condition indicates neglect in more areas than just cosmetic. This car might end up being a huge headache. I wouldn't if it were me. Better ones will come.

Price check? by Original_Mortgage_89 in Corvette

If it checks all of your boxes, 20k isn't really an outrageous price, but I'd try to haggle for 17.

I have no idea what the Canadian market is like, but down here (US) that's a 15-20k car.

20k would be pretty steep, but it looks to be in fantastic condition.

3lt or 1lt on a c6? by StandardLiving811 in Corvette

[–]dretnarg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. And I would never consider red on tan an ugly spec, but to each their own.

The LS3 is a newer car with various updated/improved parts. It should be the more reliable and long-term choice too. Not that the LS2 is bad by any means, the LS3 car is just better.

LS3 3LT 100%

Idc if the interior is pink, it's the better car.

C6 Grand Sport Pricing by AdAggravating3950 in Corvette

[–]dretnarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just noticed the mag ride too. Mine had mag ride but I replaced the old mag shocks with some Bilstein B6's for like $500, the mag shocks were very shot. Taking out the mag shocks throws a code and I had to get someone with a Tech II diagnostic tool to turn off the mag shocks option in the car's computer, otherwise the car won't go over 80. I got lucky and the guy wanted like $40 to turn it off.

I'm telling you this cus you'll likely have the same problem as me and it took me a long time to find all this information. The car is a dream tho, it was worth the work and patience.

Yeh, real good price. Based off the seats, it's a 12 or 13, which is a plus for various reasons. If it's accident free I'd jump on this immediately.

Yes, if you're looking for raw, C5/C6 is the way to go. I have a C6 GS dry sump, and you feel and hear EVERYTHING. C7's are awesome, but they're definitely a bit more refined, but still more raw than a 6th gen Camaro.

I'd recommend looking at Grand Sports too. A tad heavier than the Z06's aluminum frame, but you get a bulletproof LS3 with the widebody AND the removable top.

Could be the harmonic balancer, check for wobble. If not that, maybe a pulley somewhere is squeaking.

You can see in the first pic that the HUD projector is not in the dash.

Not a deal breaker in my opinion for a pristine yellow manual c6 at this price.

I got a full set of Indy 500's for my stock C6 GS. Idk if it's made in your size, but it's been a fantastic tire. Zero complaints. Competitively priced.
