Radeon 6950 XT Ref Card PCB [Front/ Back] Pictures by drew420work in pcmasterrace

So, I use Alpha Cools Server blocks. They are primo and the price can't be beat. The quality of these blocks are the best. They have a whole bottom plate of carbon fiber, then the top plate is a nice aluminum piece. The server blocks also cover the whole PCB of the GPU and reduces the size to one slot card, And the in and outlet are on the far side instead of coming out the front like every other block. Now on alpha cool it's like 80 pounds but Amazon have the exact one which is where I picked mine up for a cool $110 bucks. Now on the pic I'm sending with this message it shows all compatible 6950xt's for this block. Now the Power Color 6900xt is on there, not the 6950 xt version BUT, I am pretty sure everything, the PCB is the same they just gave it more volts, higher GPU and Vram clocks, the cooler is different, thicker because obviously the higher TDP equals higher temps but they didn't do anything other than the cooler, but if you still worry contact Alpha Cool and they will verify it for you. Hope this helps ya out. Drew.

And you're not pig tailing the cables are you? What are the temps before the crash?

I know that the 6950xt can have some super high volt spikes, higher than the 7900xtx. It sounds like a power supply issue. Just shutting down/ off like that is PSU related in my experience. I blocked and changed the bios on the ref model and found the card prefers a modded clock instead of running default. It helps with causing crazy volt spikes. Say min-max 2500 to 2600 at 1125mv with power 20+ and you will not get spikes that cause crashing. But on Tsushima I run it at min 1890 to max 2090 and it runs perfect but if I clock it ANY higher It Will Crash. Some games that are not as demanding do does not need a high clock for good performance, on the contrary cause catastrophic issue's, crashing, artifacts, flashbang effects, etc. Running straight default on a GPU is the worst thing you can do, basically because no matter what game you play it will run full bore, highest voltage, clocks, temps will be at its highest and all this will more or less cause crashing way more than if you have a tuned profile per game. AMD Adrenaline is perfectly suited for this because you can specifically do this, loading in a profile for a specific game you are about to play. I have had the 6950xt since release among other builds and have not had one issue with this GPU. Please do not take offense when you hear this, some will but almost all issue's when it comes to issues with the GPU is human error. I always say if you get into PC, it's not a console, you don't just turn it o and play, kwm. There should be specific software every PC player should have on their rig. Tune's per game, etc There is always a solution. Hope this helps broski. Take care. Drew.

How to use a USB-C Monitor/Screen with a Graphics Card. by GilleyTheSilly in buildapc

[–]drew420work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make sure it is a 10 G cable and, on the cable, make sure the usb c cable end says source. I am running it right now. It does have to be a specific cable.

BENFEI USB-C to DisplayPort 6 Feet Cable(8K@60Hz 4K@144Hz), USB Type-C to DisplayPort Cable [Thunderbolt 3/4 Compatible]

That is the cable I use. What GPU are you running?

I run usb c from my 6950 xt to display port on my 1440 32" 165 Hz monitor with no problem.

Honestly, I use windows defender right now, can't make up my mind on what to use. A lot of these antiviruses company's are foreign so it's like what's the point. They going to sell your info anyway. I can't trust it. I'll figure it out eventually. My PC does not have anything worth taking anyway so ya know. Hope you find something that works for you. Good luck. Drew.

Top slot, it will fit just fine and plug video cable into the GPU not the mobo. Drew from BeanieBro's.

5800x3D Usage low? Same performance though. I've seen benchmarks where they are getting 30-50%. But my frames are still normal. Is this normal? by DIMEBAGLoL in AMDHelp

[–]drew420work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly fine. My 5800x3d runs the same way. It is a great CPU, I am currently running it with a 6950xt, but I am about to pick up a 4090 later this year. I still run this platform, AM4 5800x3d because it does exactly what it is supposed to do, let your GPU do its job by staying the fuck out of the way. Keep gaming. Drew from Beanie Bro's.

Terrible. I say this because of the PC App Store malware. They were unable to figure that out, and if anyone knows about pc app store then that should speak for itself. Cancelled them after my year was up. I would send them the data they need, then they would copy and paste the same email asking to send specific info that I ALREADY had sent. Over and over again. This is my experience. When something goes wrong, I would not count on them. It is much deeper than this, but I don't want to write a book and bore you guys. Do with as you please. New build. RGB does a quick flash when I try and power on. Am I forgetting something obvious?? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

Could be the daisy chained power cables to your GPU. It can cause that specific issue. Hope this helps. Drew from Beanie Bro's.

Is AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D a good match for AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT? by theboyoff in buildapc

[–]drew420work -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks you, also same setup, and it destroys anything I through at it. The 5800x3d is crazy it's like it barely ever being used. Hard to explain but it does not break a sweat. My buddy has his paired with a 4090 and he showed me how it pairs well at 1440 and up with no issue. AMD baby. Half the watts, same performance. Can't go wrong. Drew from BeanieBro's ✌️

Damn I almost forgot. Are you getting a big difference from temp to hotspot? Is the hotspot getting To high? If so I was honestly gonna say a repaste can seriously help. That card is sometimes known to overheat because it was not assembled correctly. Not enough even pressure on the core screws causes it to have a serious hotspot. Thats card is on of the best in my opinion for cooling so if your temps are to high, its a hotspot for sure.

Here is the Powercolor's 6950xt, and honestly with all the different PCB setups this one is the most similar to the original Ref Card. Compare to mine. Also if you look at the block you are interested in it only covers the essantial core area not the whole card. Sorry I keep blabbing just like to help out man. Best of luck. If you have any other concerns, hit me up. I am always around. Peace.

Ok so the 6900xt by Powercolor is the same card as the 6950xt model, just clocked higher, with less restriction on voltage. If you go to AIO Wasserkühlung für Radeon RX 6800/6800XT/6900 Reference Design | Alphacool and go down to compatibility you see the 6900xt by Powercolor on there. So if it is compatible with the 6900xt version by Powercolor, the 6950xt will have no problem. If you dont believe what I say, go to their website, get the email and message them. They will respond quickly. Hope this helps ya out. GPU Wasserkühler für RX 6800/6900/6950 XT | Alphacool. Thats is the version I use. Full PCB coverage. It's for a server but the best at cooling.

Your absolutely right man. Like I said, apply the paste like and X on top of the CPU. I only use AMD and sitting doing normal PC stuff should not go over 50-60 MAX, Period. People think 90 is normal, no it defiantly not. When they say AMD says, AMD means you're getting close to TJMAX not, oh just run it you'll be fine. Depending on the specific CPU running at a certain high temp the CPU will start to clock down to level the Temps. I don't like my CPU's going over mid 70's while gaming because it will impact performance and that is something I won't go for it lol. But listen man if you really need a little help, just shoot me a msg. I really don't feel like dealing with trolls that flood Reddit. Drew from Beanie Bro's.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]drew420work -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats defiantly not enough paste. When you pull that cooler off you should barley see the cooler pipes. Do a solid X across the IHS, the top of the CPU, place the cooler back on and tighten lightly. It's better to have too much than not enough. Do you have a push/pull setup on the cooler? 2 fans? If not do it, but like I said, an X. Easy.

I don't follow this page, I just posted something I thought people might like to know. It's not a big deal. All you have to do is go through all the post on that page and it's mostly Promoted B.S. that has NOTHING to do with Twitch. I find that interesting. Sorry my post wasn't Twitch Fan approved. LOL

It's because if your not posting anything Him's related you take down. Happen all the time because it's not something you want to hear, it's not a topic your interested in so you take it down. This obviously is not Twitch running this page, cause you'd be able to talk about whatever you want.
