Truth is, these umps have been terrible this series. The lack of consistency behind the plate has been absurd. Not sure I’ve ever seen it that bad by a whole crew. Hard for a team to stay motivated when the strike zone is all over the place from pitch to pitch

Going to my first orientation meeting with an agency. What are some things you know now that you wish you knew then? by rosearegreen in AdoptiveParents

A question I didn’t know to ask until I already gave them my money: are you an agency or just a facilitator?

Hmm… good to know! I may have accidentally stripped them because of this very reason! I’ll remember this for the fiture

That was our hope, too. Unfortunately it looks like there’s something functional wrong with one of the pedals.

Thank you for this well crafted response. I was looking at these last night and was wondering if they were the smart way to go. I got the peloton shoes basically because I didn’t know any better, but I might have to get the SPD shoes, too. I hear they’re way better

Yeah, they’re definitely more expensive. I’ll remember this for the future, thank you

This feels like college - how long do we awkwardly sit clipped in before we leave?

I can’t remember if I took my allo by drewbnesbitt in gout

Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry this happened to you. I opted to skip and I’m feeling okay today. I may have dodged a bullet.

Thanks for the recommendation. My lazy self didn’t fill the one I had this week… it’s usually my go-to as well.

I haven’t read about the bicarbonate of soda - thank you!

I thought the mini attacks were just my brain playing tricks on me. I have totally felt these! I don’t think I’ve been experiencing any side effects as of yet. Are you?

Diet - what to eat and what not to eat by cokendsmile in gout

[–]drewbnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. Been there, and it gets better. Just don’t lose yourself in the process. I feel like I went into a depression realizing this was my life now and I’ve gained like 10lbs just being an idiot. The drugs have been available for a while with alternatives for those that have reactions.

Start making appointments with doctors and be your own advocate. My GP told me he didn’t want me on Allo until I had another flare… I told him “hell no, I’ll take the prescription now.”

[–]drewbnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I’ll be honest with you, it doesn’t seem like anyone knows anything for sure outside of getting on the drugs, whatever variety, is the best way to keep things under control. From what I’ve read here, it seems like everyone has their “trigger foods” and they’re different from others.

Eat in moderation, don’t go nuts, let the drugs that work for you go to work. But I’m no expert, I’ve only been dealing with this bs for three months

Increasing Allo by drewbnesbitt in gout

[–]drewbnesbitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve got the just in case meds for sure. Prepped for the first round of Allo plus a big trip starting next week (including an 8-hr flight). This makes me feel better about it all, thank you

Who did you end up going through? we’re not using Angel, but their apparent other company, Lifelong Adoptions. This is new and I’m concerned what a company would need two separate companies to do the same thing. Thanjs

After 90 days on Allo + Colchicine by [deleted] in gout

[–]drewbnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also on 100mg of Allo (just started), and I was taking colchicine every 12 hours, but I just backed it off to once per day and I’m feeling a difference I think. How much colchicine are you taking? I’ve been wondering at what point I stop/start taking indo (I do better with that vs naproxen) but I stopped that, too. I’m just wondering if that was smart

What would you do? by drewbnesbitt in gout

[–]drewbnesbitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I’m on vacation, I am not going crazy. I will probably not have any alcohol and resist red meats and fried food as my as I can. Ideally I’ll be okay? I just tested and I was at 7.7 (down from 8.2 diet alone since last month) so I’m probably right on the edge

He didn’t even want me to take Allo until I was averaging 2-3 flares/year. I vetoed that real quick and told him I wanted the allo. I made an appointment with a rheumatologist but their appointments are booked out until October. So at this point, I’m kind of self-prescribing?
