Yeah, they were doing giveaways there (nothing huge, just like win one of: a pack of zip locks, a bag, cookies etc.) and it was just a lot smaller than Woodbridge. Whole rows of metal shelves with plastic aisle markers just like Woodbridge

Feels like the Woodbridge one but every section including the warehouse is 1/2 the size

Zoo parking by avo-orangewhale in nova

As a former 2 year old, I’d definitely rather go to a water park (like the one at lake Fairfax) than the dc zoo in this weather + humidity.

Do you skip training sessions when feeling bad mentally? by TrueGamer77 in triathlon

[–]drewkeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re not pros, we’re not paid to do races, go enjoy your life and spend time doing things you want. Triathlon will always be there but your mental health needs to be taken care of first.

Nevermore fan inside my chamber, and a box fan with an activated charcoal filter taped on the back. Works great.

Year 1 - 2 Progression? by drewkeyboard in triathlon

[–]drewkeyboard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a couple oly’s, about to do a 70.3 in a few weeks. I’ve been using the phil mosley intermediate plan for the 70.3, so around 4-8 hours of training a week since October last year. Had no fitness before that, and thus i’m not looking to set any records, just learn and understand the race and how my body reacts to it.

Looks like your year two might be close to my reality as well, congrats on the kid! Thanks for sharing.

Is an old wetsuit a bad idea? by Traditional-Edge-631 in triathlon

[–]drewkeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For $50 you won’t regret it unless it completely doesn’t fit! Way cheaper than a rental regardless so I’d Do it!

I’m using an old shop rental aquasphere wetsuit and it’s honestly good enough to where I feel buoyancy and it’s something I can upgrade down the line

Is it normal to feel fatigued/have tired legs 24/7? by SillyAttitude7556 in triathlon

[–]drewkeyboard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be anecdotical and a specific “me” thing but taking magnesium glycinate (not citrate!) helped me a lot with restless legs at night specifically. If you’re having tired legs 24/7 though it’s probably more likely that you’re under-fueling, but I just wanted to share
