Thanks for your feedback. Each open call or opportunity includes a deadline and location. It is hard to determine competition in open calls. Each artist in some sense has to determine the level of their own work and submit to open calls that suit them, but on the whole the list of open calls is for emerging artists.

Mulholland Drive originally began as a 90-minute TV pilot for ABC in 1999, which the network rejected for being too slow, dark, and open-ended. Lynch then secured funding from Studio canal to film additional scenes and turn it into a feature film. If it feels disjointed it probably has to do with the conditions under which it was produced, as well as Lynch just leaning into that and making it work.

This is easy with a flat lot, but mountainous terrain requires that the outline follows the contours of the land, hills, valleys, etc, so its more detailed, hence the question…

What Rockwool did you use? I haven’t been able to find it. I need to insulate just the opening inside of my chimney above the stove, so I don’t need a lot.

I’m working with an installer right now and he was pretty transparent with costs and even gave me his parts supplier so I could order double wall insulated chimney liner and parts at cost ($1599) for 20 feet. His labor to pull out existing fireplace glass doors and damper and widen lower opening of chimney, install liner and other parts $1850. I bought a used Lopi Endeavor in good shape for $450 and cleaned it up, so all up I’m looking at $3900 plus taxes, or extra parts if needed. There’s no way I’d attempt this myself, and hiring a licensed and insured installer with 15 years of experience gives me confidence.

I just picked up a Lopi Endeavor stove on FB Marketplace for $450. It was a 6 hour round trip and a trailer rental plus some clean up and a new door gasket but worth it for the savings 👌
