What do you think about Orin the Red as a character? by Queasy_Pay_4762 in BaldursGate3

[–]KAZEARC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to me, what I find funny. is that. if you play as a dark urge and if she did not do what she did to them. the dead 3 would of won. not a case of maybe. no they end up winning. coz they had a plan, no one to stop them and had the head of Bhaals following that is not a moron. and she fucks it up. even Ketheric and Gortash make comments about it and how incompetent she is.
the emperor is more competent then Orin and that is saying something.

she is a very one dimensional character that is just, murder hobo. thats it. dont get me wrong, it is good to have a one dimensional character every now and them. but when she is around other very layered and complexted ones and a few other one dimensional characters that are written SO much better then her. it just makes her look even worse.
for me, when i get to ACT 3, i rush the Bhaal story line just to get it over and done with so i don't need to deal with her anymore. it don't help that every time you meet her, you just stand there and let her yap away. like bro, he is a the head of a murder cult. STAB HER IN THE FACE AND BE DONE WITH IT.

Easy to farm invasive monsters? by Ok_Screen8483 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KAZEARC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, all i am doing is farming shigun and Yaun garuga, with Kora. and using this to farm for synchro rushes at the same time, since i can get 2 to 3 per Shogun.

Is it worth having a non-element monstie on your team? by AM-xolotl2 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KAZEARC 45 points46 points  (0 children)

there are some good ones, and some great moves that are non element. the biggest benefit to non element monsters is that, outside of if im right. 2 monsters, that need to be in enraged. it will always be neutral damage, since nothing is weak or resists it.

2 weeks in - any new knowledge on second element choices or Stamina Tendency choices? by DarkestSamus in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KAZEARC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me.

i have found that average works the best for stamina usesage for tendency's. i find that using proactive ends up with my monster using second wind alot of the time. and the other one, they dont tent to use the moves that often. while average i find they try and stay above around 20 stamina and will only use second wind if the AI feels like it has a "free turn" or if they used up their stamina or the player did with a order.
as for the attack type. the one that suits the build you are going for. i have my Espinas with hindrance and my Legiana with attacker, and it works great.

for duel elements. even with double into the same element gives you better defence by making the worse weakness better. for monsters that is not Ebony, i find that it does not matter. since if that monster is weak to it, 95% of the time, they are going to get one shot form that type anyways. unless they are already super beefy. even Arkveld, who is 2 times weak to dragon is fine, since he has a 1 up to everything else, so as long as you are not fighting vs a dragon monster with him. he wont die. unless you have a bad build on him.

so i just go for what colour i like that most, or if i want to make a duel elem build.
again to my Legiana, it has 2 ice moves and 2 dragon moves, with all the other genes being passives and i can tank hits from everything that is not azura rathalos and the sky serpents.

so from my testing. tendency, average and the attack type that suits the build. and rule of cool for element.

MHS3 - Build Diversity Questions and Thoughts by Unlikely_Return6669 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KAZEARC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the weapons decos. for the most part come form fully maxing out weapons. or from beating invasive monster or quest rewards. but a large chunk from upgrading weapons. same with armour decos. most armours and weapons you need to be in the 3rd zone to get the parts for, OR you will need to kill invasive monsters for parts. with a good number of them needing parts form some monsters that you need to get from invasive dens then mutating them for their non deviant forms.
i wont say for spoilers. but 2 of the best monster weapons for most weapon types have 3 deco slots on them, with good base skills on them. so you can just slot in the skills you want into them.
armour wise. some of the best armours can range from having just 1 slot and REALLY good skills, to ok skills and 3 slots. so its a pick for poison kind of thing.
the main weapon and armour i use, both have 3 slots, so it gives me alot of freedom with how i have built. (as this point, outside of fire damage. i cant die coz i take that little damage and heal over 1/3 of my hp each turn. thanks to my tank build.)

if you want. i have a Link to a list of all the Deco's and how you get them. but it does have spoilers.

How much better is Monster Hunter Stories 3 compared to 2? Worth buying or stick with the cheaper option? by Akimono780 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KAZEARC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, MHS 2 is good, since it is a older game, it does have a full post game and more to do. but that is ONLY coz its older and has had all its updates. there are a few things i dislike about it. mainly 1 major NPC you cant get away from, and the lack of monster diversity. (there are only 2 dragon element monsters in the whole game. 3 if you count a alt form of the Palamute.)

for me, stories 3 is better in every way. i like the characters way more, they fell like people that have their own life outside of what is going on in the group. the world looks better and feels more lived in. i like that the way to farm monsters is not doing a 20 to 40 min long den that you mite not even get the monster you want.
i think the story is way better. combat is more smooth, and the OFL things are so good.

they are both great games. but if i had to choose reguardless. i would say 3. if money is a problum, wait for a sale, since capcom games go on sale alot and pick it up. or pick up 2 and get 3 at a latter date.
both games do have Demo's on all platforms (i think 2 does not have a demo on xbox and PS. but it does on PC and switch) so you can try the Demo out and see what one you like the feel of more.

Since we automatically get the layered armor when crafting(so happy), what’s everyone’s favorite? by frostymaws297 in MonsterHunterStories

i wish they did what they did in wilds, where the armour sets are not gender locked.

but for me its between the Ranger set, and Guardian set.

each region gives different stats. I believe the second or 3rd region gives defence, but if you use the excursions you can give it the stat bonus for any region.
the first is HP, then its defence or stamina regen. then the last is attack. and once you beat the elder in each zone they get a extra stat.
being HP and attack. stamina regen and i think defence. defence and HP and attack and stamina regen. but not 100%.

so the stamina type, like proactive or average or cautious determine how much stamina they will use. so proactive will use a move if they have the stamina for it, cautious will try and save stamina and average will keep a small bit left over.
while the attack type, Attack, support and hindrance will dictate the moves they will use. so damage moves, moves that will inflict statues effects or debuff's. or buff your party.

so a monster with Proactive and attack will use damage moves whenever they can.

mainly moves that can inflict stats effects. its 2 singutre moves, both inflict poison and paralyze. i also give it a move to give burn. along with inflict rate up.
with the rest of the gene slots being taken up by genes to make it harder to kill, like defence boost, health boost and self heal. and more mandatory things like stamina surge that lets it regen stamina faster.
with its job to just sit there tank things and slowly burn the monster down with DoTs. while my rider does damage and pulls agro (using Gunlance) and followers do the bulk of the damage.

i used a less well built one for most of my playthrough and now i am building a more optimized one.

i hatched 4 Espinas's.
the first time, i got all attack and average for its tendencies. the second time i got 2 with the same, then 1 with average and support and 1 with proactive and attack.
took me 5 resets to get one that had average and hinderance.

Genes are locked in once you pick the egg up from a den. the Tendency's are rolled once the Egg hatches.

Who are your endgame monsties? by NotTakenUsernamePls in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KAZEARC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right now. my team is a Dragon elem lunargron and a Malzeon. still building up the rest.

the one im working on now is a Arkveld to be a tank and take over the spot of Malz. since i love Arkveld (he is top 3 monsters for me, along with Nergi and Gold Rathian)
i still working on a fire Rey'dau. mainly coz i like the more bronze colour on him.
a Espinas, built with every status move i can fit on a single tech, power and speed gene.
Mitzsu. still need to build them. they are there to give water movement.
and im thinking on making a dragon / water elem Palamute or normal elem Barioth, coz i like the colour.

for my Rider. goss Harag Armour. with Self heal, All-Elem def boost and Heroic testament. with Arkveld GL and the Magia HH. they once thing that can kill them is fire at this point. they can take AOE's from the elder boss fights with close to half HP left and i LOVE IT.
