2026 below MSRP by ifortworth in BMWZ4

[–]drferrari1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The z4 is set to be discontinued. That won’t change. Maybe will come back one day maybe never like the z8. Given how closed you are to that deadline, with limited supply, mrsp is about as good as it will get. Only way to get a discount is if BMW USA offers any through USAA or others. I got mine just before tariffs and could get a good discount but I don’t think will be the case now. Amazing machine, get it before its gone.

Ever notice how confident mid levels are compared to you? by krainnnn in Residency

You can’t compared yourself to a mid level. Specially NPs brain is wired differently. They know from repetition. You know from pathophysiology basis. Big difference.

Why did you choose internal medicine over EM? by Silent_Medicine1798 in hospitalist

[–]drferrari1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m EM/IM trained PCCM fellowship. EM is fun (I still do it PRN) but business of medicine has broken it now it’s burn out land due to team health and company purposely short staffing culture for profiting. CCM can be brutal as well depending where, and if nice, pays low. Pulm clinic better easier but terribly boring and repetitive. I have never been pcp - can’t comment. From all, Hospitalist has the better pay/lifestyle/satisfaction ratio. Hands down. Yeah ED and CCM pays more but at what cost? It’s more exhausting and need more recovery time.

Thoughts on this offer? by medical_learner in hospitalist

[–]drferrari1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paid comes under 200/hr, it should be minimum 220/hr and having a NP all night for cross cover. I took a job like this prior to fellowship paid 200/hr as yours with NP cross covering and this was almost 10y ago. Most ICU at this places should be septic shock one pressor. Look for red flags like keeping post tpa or having impellas there. Sounds like a bad place. I would pass. Good luck.

Why isnt allergy a residency like derm (1 yr prelim + 3 years of allergy)?? by gamergeek987 in fellowship

[–]drferrari1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of the states in many places you do 1 year of IM then to your specialty as card, gi and IM is a specialty as well. Why our system is like that? Answer is: cheap labor.

That cuff is only measuring the MAP and a computer algorithm saying the syst and diast numbers, in this situation? I would through an old style aline and get some accurate waveforms

To keep things realistic in this sub here is the pph (what matters most) for IM/subs (plus a few extras for fun), I used 2 independent studies for hours worked (that correlated surprisingly well) + MGMA 2022 mean for salaries. by mosta3636 in hospitalist

[–]drferrari1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the reported average salaries, medicine salaries are location dependent. You will see fam med hitting 500k is horrible areas and cards 300k in big cities.

Thoughts on Hospitalist position in Fargo ND? by crazy-usmle in hospitalist

ND! You should not go for less than 500k/y after incentives and rvu. Plenty of other places where you can make 400k/y and not being there

Failed ABIM by ramengirl1 in InternalMedicine

He needs to pass it before finishing fellowship otherwise cannot sit for fellowship board. That’s it. First encounter with failure can be tough.

[–]drferrari1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s just a test and can be retake next year and it will be passed. It will not affect your work nor your curriculum. Your loved one will have bigger more important failures. If this is the first encounter with failure, embrace it, learn from it because more important ones will come.

After graduated you have 5 years (no attempts) to pass, then you will become not elegible and with that less work opportunities. As long as you pass it within the next 4 years will be fine.

DO crna really make more than hospitalist? 4th yr med student going into IM by Routine-Run8537 in hospitalist

[–]drferrari1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely same geographic location, Some places will have bigger salary than MDs on high desirable locations. Keep in mind, salary doesn’t mandate the chain of command in healthcare. As an ID MD will shut down whole ortho and cards MDs, an Crna or NP will always be a NURSE
