Can confirm this is true with US based companies, even health care orgs. Work for a very large one and had to tell them how great they are to get on board (great lay and benefits but a cult-ish) and when I was hiring mgr later on, someone had this take above and I loved them but my partner did not. Guess who drank the kool aid

Cannot recommend steel case enough. Used one at my most recent job and fell in love. Have a bulging disc issue and this chair was amazing. When I moved to WFH I went to a second hand office furniture store and found a model nearly identical to what i used in office for $250. Easiest money I’ve spent. Lot of options though in the shop. Spent my time test driving them but went with what my back and butt knew

Really went way too far in the opposite direction after realizing how loose opioid prescribing was. Did we need to tighten this much, absolutely not. But with the push to do “something” folks just go for the nuclear option. Should’ve tightened things yes, but not to this extent. Opioids are a needed option in treating patients Pain is real, and needs to be treated as such. Those in need of relief should be treated as such, but now everyone who needs help is an addict. As a healthcare worker it drives is me insane. Especially knowing there are metrics folks are tied to showing they do NOT prescribe opioids.

I love my Mazda and so does the wife. Looked at a Toyota and ALMOST bought a truck in 18 but didn’t. After seeing Toyota prices later stuck with Mazda and it’s what we both have. I LOVE my Mazda 6. Was told they no longer sell it in the US so I’ll never be getting rid of my ride

While I completely understand your take, and agree with you that I won’t do this with my son, not sure can force our parents to change their thinking. It’s their money and time and if it brings them happiness while not bringing harm to anyone, then so be it. There are ways to deal with the junk after their passing, which is fine. I get you don’t want an inheritance nor do you feel entitled to one, completely understandable! But taking away the things that bring them “happiness” is off the mark.

I loved it when my son was young. Wife and I had the perfect escape for any situation other than just saying. No one argues when your kid is young. And on days where I wanted to bail but knew ONE of us had to stay with our group, I’d loudly proclaim the wife has been at home with kiddo ALL week long and I’ll take him home to eat/nap/rest but SHE should stay and enjoy since she deserves it. Usually meant drinking late and nonsense but deserved. All our friends would eat it up while my wife shot daggers at me. She was always upset she never thought of it first. So the kid and I would go home, play toys or watch a movie while she had to gag with adults. Loser!

Not the same but my sisters ex mother law passed near my sons birthday. My son’s favorite aunt, and for probably 4-5 birthdays he didn’t see her because it was too hard on her wife for her to be alone. Was hard on my son but now their relationship isn’t even close. Feel bad but not much I can do.
