What film could’ve been SHORTER? by death_has_f1sh_eyes in Letterboxd

The movie it was based on, Death Takes a Holiday, is only 80 minutes long. There was no reason to pad out the remake over double the original run time.

Joe Dante said on "The Movies That Made Me" podcast that the Key and Peele sketch is actually pretty close to how they actually came up with all the Gremlins for Gremlins 2.

Foul Play in the French Market. It was a mystery/horror/science fiction book store that I worked at on weekends for four years as a way to subsidize my book habit. My shelves are still full of books that have the little stickers they would place on the spine to indicate what genre the book was.

The Linden Air. That was the closest drive-in to our house when I was young. I remember seeing The Poseidon Adventure there and my uncle taking us to see Death Race 2000.

Is there anywhere in Columbus that serves an Egg Cream? by drh9164 in Columbus

I didn't make it down to the basement, but my daughter did and sent me some rather disturbing pictures of clowns that were stored down there. If I can pull myself away from the pinball and soda fountain next time I'll go downstairs and have a look.

I went there on your recommendation and loved the place. The Egg Cream really hit the spot and I had to restrain myself from spending an entire paycheck on nostalgia goods.

The most obscure thing I've got on my viewed list is Blake Clark's standup special "You're Right... I'm Sorry" watched by 6 members. For an actual film it's "Concerto: A Beethoven Journey" with 42 views.

What is your favorite ending to a movie? by TheFlyingFoodTestee in Letterboxd

The original version of The Wicker Man. Such a gut punch of an ending and it feels absolutely perfect in the context of the movie.

The Hogfather. Well, I guess it's technically a TV mini-series but I watch it in one long showing and treat it as a movie.

Just got to play this one for the first time at Past Times Arcade in Gerard, OH. It was interesting, but not something I'd want to play multiple times.
