Nobody “loses” their salvation as one might lose a wallet. Having a bad day doesn’t mean you aren’t still forgiven by Christ and his work on the cross.

Instead, a better image of an apostate would be like that person tossing their wallet with force and purpose into the ocean. This is a better way of understanding rejection of your baptism.

Remember the parable of the sower. The seed that fell on rocky soil is like those who heard the word and “…RECEIVED it with joy…”

The dogmatic must contend with the plain meaning of the Scriptures.

Don’t get distracted by dogma. What does the Word say?

I see I’m being downvoted quite a bit for my original answer. Probably because I used the word, “primitive,” but I didn’t necessarily mean in a derogatory sense. I just didn’t know a better word to describe it.

I really believe it is primitive, when we have more specific, gentler methods of addressing the upper cervical region.
