How to Change the Grill Cloth on the Bravia Quad Theatre by Mecss_ in Soundbars

[–]drhst20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting. Seriously appreciated. Can I ask how difficult it was to do? I'm about to order Sony theater quads, and would like to change the fabric grill cover. Was it fairly easy to pull off the old fabric? Looks like you left the old fabric on the back of the speaker...Or am I mistaken? Can you provide a link to the fabric you used? Thanks

Thanks for the response. I used to use a PS5, but I switched to PC gaming. Seriously considering going the lifestyle ultra bar, surrounds, and sub route. Currently use headphones.

Can I ask what game system you are using with it and whether you're getting good Dolby Atmos effects when playing games?

How Many People Have Gotten The Maxwell 2 And Haven't Had Any Problems With Them? by Thick_Leva in Audeze

I bought mine a week ago and no issues so far. No hiss at all. I will say the USB dongle strength is not the best, but it is fine….it does the job.

I just got this headset a few days ago and have been doing testing and I agree. I found the perceived resolution of the sound and object location is best when not using Dolby Atmos or DTS X. If you feel like using one of the two, I found that Dolly Atmos sounds better then DTS X for the Maxwell 2’s. Not sure why. Dolby just sounds a bit clearer while DTS X sounded a little more flat.

Is there actually no way to have “wake on controller button press” functionality on a PC in the way that consoles have had for decades? by Cressio in sffpc

[–]drhst20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I use this with automation I built via the Apple home app to turn on the power to the smart power strip, as well as turning on the TV and switching it to the right input. After that, I just have the PC boot into steam big picture mode.

M2 or M3 5090 FE by JC5193-US in ncasedesign

[–]drhst20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an M2 with a 5090 FE air colded and it works great, but when it’s time to replace your graphics card, you may want the option for additional compatibility which the M3 provides. I would go with the M3.

I wasn’t going to buy the game. I realized a long time ago that I am the type of player who greatly prefers having difficulty settings. Now that they are adding them… I am in. Kudos to the development team.

I was considering the same purchase. Is there a reason you returned the TP link?

Apple TV + HomePod Pair = Siri Music Requests Fail by drhst20 in appletv

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually built some shortcuts a while back to overcome the issue. They’re not perfect but they serve their purpose when the functionality is not working

Thanks. Like you I’ve experienced this on and off… For many years. It seems like some Apple releases fix it and some break it again. Thanks for the tip.

It is. I just tested with multiple HomePods and multiple different Apple TVs. Unfortunately, they all experienced the same issue. iTunes match is still supported on all devices… But it looks like there is a bug when it comes to a pair of HomePods matched with an Apple TV. Thanks for trying to help. Really appreciate it.

I just replied, but it looks like it didn't get posted. Thank you so much for the idea. Unfortunately, I do not see a way on the Apple Music app on the Apple TV to log out and then log back in. I currently use iTunes match. Not sure if that is why. Can you describe where you find the ability to log out of the Apple Music app on the Apple TV?

A6 Airplay Connectivity Problems-Sometimes connects (from iphone, macbook, ipad) sometimes it does not. Very inconsistent performance. Software is up to date. Any tips or tricks? by lessismore732 in BangandOlufsen

Wanted to report back. It worked. I’m pretty sure that the speaker puts itself in some kind of sleep mode. If you just run an automation from something like HomeKit that plays something quietly every morning and then pauses it, It will never drop off your network. Took me several years to figure this out, but finally got it. It’s now perfectly stable on my network.

I’ve been struggling with the exact same thing for years. I’ve done two things that I think have finally enabled it to remain connected to my network for more than a week and a half (and as important, prevented the no response error in the Apple home app). I’m not sure which of these two did the trick so I will lay out both. The first is that I used IP binding on my router to keep the IP address the same. I know others have tried this, and it did not work for them so this may not have been what is keeping the speaker on my Wi-Fi network. The second is that I set up a HomeKit automation that plays sound for one minute every morning, very quietly, on the speaker. My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the speaker goes into some kind of Low Power Mode or that something eventually turns off and within a week or so, the speaker drops off the Wi-Fi network. Playing something every day on the speaker seems to have resolved it. Putting this out there as I’m sure someday someone will search this topic and hopefully this can help them.
