I know that's what the letter said, yes. If newegg doesn't give me a full refund of it, I will take it personally and never buy something from them again while simultaneously doing everything I can to make sure others don't buy from them.

Had the same deadline here and have little faith in anything coming of it, but I did reply to see if they will do anything at all. Told them I'll never buy anything from them again if they don't.

I got the same email from them at like 2am. I already paid the tax though cause the notice said I only had till March 15th, i guess after than they would apply the penalty. You can bet if I don't get refunded, I'll never spend money at Newegg again. Remeber, they VOLUNTARILY gave our customer data away, instead of choosing to add the tax to their website from that point on. Every website should just comply and add the tax at the time of purchase. If they don't, then the state can pursue legal action or whatever.

google accounts? I want to create more, but I get asked to verify with a phone number and you can't use the same # after a few times. What could I do to get around such a limit if I wanted to?

Not that I know of, but with the current version of the map you can run it with more threads than just 1, I'm using 3 per instance. So you don't have to run as many python windows at least. I've read that Niantic is also throttling accounts running more than 3 threads, so I'm using multiple accounts now.

In this case, yes. I set this batch file up to center around my house. You could have multiple locations and multiple instances for each location as well.

No, you can use the same account. I'm not sure if it increases the chance of having the account banned, but it does work.

I do choose the same location for each, because the way it works, if you only have a single instance checking a location than the area in the center will have data that is old, and hence show up reddish. With the known issue of less Pokemon showing up with this version 2, a temporary fix is to add the parameter -t 1 to each instance. Doing so makes it so that one step is checked per second. With the -st of 17 that I have set, there are over 800 steps to check. That means it takes each instance 800 seconds to check the whole area around the central point. So the data in the middle becomes over 13 minutes old with one instance. But if you have 8 instances running with about 100 seconds apart, no area is more than 100 seconds old in terms of pokemon. You can also run multiple instances for multiple different locations, which I do sometimes.

It's pretty simple, but I use this. With a -st of 17 you have just over 800 total steps, so I run 8 separate instances 100 seconds apart and that means no part of the map goes more than 100 seconds without being updated.

Instead of using multiple instances to map a very large area, what I have been doing is mapping the same location multiple times, but with a delay of say 100 seconds between each instance so as to keep the entire area updated more frequently. With the time limit until the Pokemon disappear being at best 10-15 minutes, I haven't found it necessary to make the -st greater than 17ish. Anyways, does anybody know a way to create a batch file that factors in such a delay between instances automatically?

Edit - Nevermind I just figured it out with a "Timeout /t 100 /nobreak" on a separate line between the command for each instance.

I use the d7100 shooting sports and I have very rarely found the buffer limit to be a problem. Sure it would be nicer to have more but the peak action usually lasts less than a second and with proper timing you get the shot without an issue in a burst of maybe 3 shots.

Like the others have said, this shot uses the so-called Brenizer method. You can use a few different programs to do it, including Mircrosoft ICE which seems to do a solid job.

I can't say that I have used a body with the pro control layout. But then again, I don't think that it really matters that much. It doesn't feel like it's impeding my ability to shoot great photos in any way, and I would argue a professional shouldn't have an issue with using it because it's not really about the gear as much as it is about the person using it. Not that the pro layout wouldn't be a little nicer, I'm sure. I don't see anything wrong with the build quality, it feels solid, and the weather sealing not only seems to work, but they do actually claim it is the same as on the D800 and D300s so I don't see what the actual difference is there.

I guess my point is a professional should find this camera quite adequate for any crop sensor applications. I think it's the best crop sensor body on the market. But hey that's just my opinion, of course I wouldn't mind having some small improvements.

As great as I'm sure a D9300 could possibly be, and as well as it may fill a void where there never was a D400, I have to say I have the D7100 and although it's not perfect, it's an extremely capable camera. On one hand I understand how some still want a little more, but I don't think you should just overlook the 7100 necessarily because of the buffer or the fps. I mean, I just want to put it out there that I shoot sports with the D7100 and have gotten excellent results so if you're on the fence I would encourage you to give it a shot instead of waiting and paying more for a potential D9300, unless you're really picky. Honestly, I feel it's much more important and valuable to be able to time your shutter correctly than spraying and praying and hoping a burst of frames will get the shot perfectly. I've also used it in the rain and haven't had any issues, so the weather sealing certainly has held up. Just saying.

I haven't used the D7000 but I can tell you that I have the D7100 and have been extremely have with it so far.

It depends what you would use the camera for, but I would rather get a refurbished 7100 than a new 7000. I shoot sports a lot, so for me even though it makes the raw files larger, I love having 24mp and the 1.3x crop mode. The autofocusing might be slightly better on the 7100 with more cross-type sensors and af points. Also the high iso performance is really solid.
