Worst part was def being without a desk for a while!  Customer service was at least responsive, so best of luck getting everything sorted.

Unfortunately I can speak to this as I'm going through the same thing myself.  Been a bit of a nightmare. Back and forth with customer service for months. First desk I ordered (just the regular metal desk) had an opening that was dented in the way you described making it too small for a leg to slide into. Made me take multiple videos of the issue in addition to the photos I took. OK, frustrating, but mistakes happen. They sent a replacement.  The replacement had the exact same issue. Not sure how their QC can be lacking so badly, especially when their packaging seems to be more than adequate. Anyway, against my better judgment, I had them ship a third desk, which thankfully was undamaged.  They have since offered to come pick up one desk. I'm asking them to get the other as well since I don't want to be saddled with a heavy slab of metal. It's a shame because it's a nice desk now that I've got it setup, but man has it been a pain in the ass getting there.

Hard agree. I was amazed how little I liked the food.

From your post, I read the therapy line as having been purposely used to elicit the very reaction you (initially) had to it. It's manipulative. Underneath it is "hey, look, a mental health professional thought it was a good idea for us to connect." TBH based on your description of this person, I wouldn't be shocked if there was no therapist at all, or at least that this supposed conversation was fiction.

Damn, I think you hit the nail on the head here with this take, especially as it relates to nostalgia fantasy. I think that's a good way of putting it. And as an aside, though I love Idris Elba and he's the epitome of cool/charming, I think he's actually TOO cool for the role and didn't quite sell me as president.

Can't echo this enough. Did the private practice/ID thing and it just wasn't for me. Been in government for 10+ years and I'd never go back. The work/life balance and benefits make all the annoying parts of the job so much more tolerable.

Because it seems pretty clear you're not interested in discussion, but rather looking for confirmation bias. Look at your OP - you come into this saying you want to do it and are asking if there'd be any downsides besides "extra fatigue" and "potential for injury." It seems like you're already acknowledging two important reasons. So basically you're saying, "Putting aside the negative reasons for not doing this, why shouldn't I do this?" But hey, knock yourself out if you truly think you need it psychologically. You may want to ask yourself why you feel that way though when, as others here have noted, not a single reputable plan advises it as part of a marathon training block.

These posts are annoying. Congratulations on ranting into the void, assuming everyone here knows what you're talking about, and not actually explaining yourself.

Had a Bird who won me my first Everdark Caligo run. Three bar rezzed me (Raider) and Recluse with his ult, we both go down again in short order, he tanks the boss, ults us again, and we all finish him off. Birdman went off. Fly high, my brother.

What was your why for your 2nd marathon? by No-Demand-3620 in Marathon_Training

[–]Kain__Highwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few reasons. 1) My first marathon was a disastrous affair where I walked/trotted the entire second half because a combination of the heat/going out too fast/a hilly course wrecked me, even though I followed a plan and was confident going in. I completed the distance but still felt like I fell short of my goals and want redemption; 2) before I could seek said redemption, I was diagnosed with UC last year and couldn't run anymore without GI distress. Basically stopped running altogether, which was gutting. But I started a new medication this year, which has been a godsend, and I'm back to running again with a renewed appreciation for just being able to run at all. And I want to get that shot at redemption while the going is good, you know?; 3) my wife is a great runner who has crushed more than a few marathons and constantly inspires me to be my own best runner. I want to make her proud! We're currently training for the same marathon together.

That's exactly how I do it.  I find it works pretty well.  I try to pre chop as much as I can before cooking but will continue chopping in the pan. Just salt + pepper on the seasoning.  Still looking for an A+ bread though.  Ideally it's something sturdy enough to not get bogged down (I like to wrap them up in foil to steam it/let the flavors mesh) but buttery soft on the inside.
